The Cottage is a comfortable, well-appointed 4-season family-friendly home, privately nestled on 13 wooded acres, yet so close to all the Adirondacks have to offer! Just minutes from Whiteface Mt., and a short drive to the Olympic Village of Lake Placid, the Cottage is a great place to unwind: clean, comfortable, bright, spacious and well-maintained in a private, rustic setting with modern conveniences.

With a maximum capacity …of 10, the Cottage offers 3 generously sized bedrooms, a loft, 2.5 baths, open floor plan with a huge stone fireplace, wrap-around deck with gas BBQ grill, outdoor seating, enclosed porch with wood-burning stove, and ceiling fans throughout.

On the main level you're greeted by a spacious, welcoming entry foyer leading to the kitchen and expansive dining room and family room with cathedral pine ceilings, floor-to-ceiling fieldstone fireplace and massive windows looking out over the wooded surroundings. Set back off the entry foyer is the powder room. A hallway leads to 2 bedrooms, each with 2 twin beds and a full bathroom with shower and tub. Off the family room are the enclosed porch and wrap-around deck. Whether enjoying a cup of coffee, catching up with family and friends, reading or unwinding after a day of hiking or skiing, the enclosed porch with new comfy seating and wood-burning stove is always a guest favorite...year-round! The exterior wrap-around deck offers a gas BBQ grill and table and chairs for summer cook-outs. The deck looks out over the large open yard area below.

Upstairs is the loft with full-size futon overlooking the family room and dining room. Behind the loft is the spectacular master suite, featuring cathedral pine ceilings, log furnishings, including a king-size bed, TV, reading nook with skylights and full-size sofa-bed, luxurious master bath with skylights, deep jetted soaking tub and glass-enclosed double shower. Behind the master bedroom is a walk-through closet and an additional room/office.

AMENITIES: On-site laundry, high-speed WiFi, smart TVs, DVD/Blu-Ray players, bed, bath & kitchen linens, plenty of extra blankets and pillows, paper products, dish & laundry detergent, a very well-equipped kitchen including a Keurig coffee maker and some standard condiments. You will find books, games and movies for all ages throughout the Cottage. And firewood is provided for guest use while staying at the Cottage at no additional cost.

The Cottage is tastefully decorated in an Adirondack theme, and offers a serene, relaxing mountain getaway with convenient access to so many activities. Get away from it all without leaving behind the luxuries of home!

WINTER: Alpine skiing & snowboarding at Whiteface Mountain, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. Snowshoe, cross-country ski, bobsled, ice skate on the Olympic Oval, go snowmobiling, enjoy a dog sled ride, or slide down the toboggan chute on Mirror Lake...all within 20 minutes of the Cottage. The little ones are sure to enjoy a visit to Santa's Workshop, just 5 minutes away. If you prefer to stay indoors, indulge in some quiet time by the fireplace. The Cottage is well-equipped with books, games and movies for all ages.

SPRING & SUMMER: Watch the wildlife, as the lush forest comes back to life! Go fly-fishing in the nearby AuSable River. Also close by: world-class golf courses, boating, water-skiing, swimming, biking, skating, horseback riding, hiking, rock-climbing, bird-watching, free outdoor concerts at the beach, and the list goes on.... The Jay Covered Bridge/Jay Rapids are a 5-minute drive, while Lake Placid and Mirror Lake are just 16 miles from the Cottage. Ferry across Lake Champlain to Vermont for the afternoon or drive 90 minutes north to visit Montreal. At the end of the day, return to the Cottage for a BBQ and relax on the screen porch.

AUTUMN: The Adirondacks come alive in Autumn! Leaves turn from green to bright hues of yellow, red, and fiery orange as the air turns cool and crisp, and the views even more breathtaking! This is the perfect time for outdoor activities in the High Peaks. The Cottage offers easy access to hiking, biking, boating, golf courses, shopping, and sight-seeing. And when the day of activities is done, return home to luxurious accommodations at the Cottage. Sit back and relax by the fire!

Hiking trails galore; town beach with boat rentals, picnic facilities, playground and free concerts in the summer; the AuSable River, flume, swimming holes, and world-class trout fishing; mountain biking; athletic events; community and seasonal festivals; and of course, the home of Whiteface Mountain.

“We have just returned from a wonderful Thanksgiving (Canadian) weekend. The cottage was great for our group and came totally equipped with everything you could ask for. The kitchen was well stocked and there were lots of extra pillows, blankets, towels, etc. The back enclosed "porch", which is really like another living room, is really great and the owner put on the glass coverings before we arrived so it could be enjoyed at this time of year. It has a wood stove as well if required. It's very cozy sitting around the main stone fireplace in the living room too. The house was extremely clean. The owner was always available both before our stay and when I had a question during our stay and was also very kind to help us with a couple of extra requests. The power went out briefly when we were there, but the owner has a large generator that kicks in immediately until the power is restored. What a bonus that is!! Beautiful private location and there is even a hiking trail at the end of the street. Highly recommend this property!”
