About Us: We are a happily married couple of 44 years, with 3 children and 7 grandchildren. We are both now retired and have the cabin for a supplemental retirement income for the future.
Why we think you will enjoy staying in Ticonderoga: The cabin is located outside the town of Ticonderoga which is a nice little town. We have many ponds and trail systems within walking distance if you enjoy hiking or just enjoy the outside. The town has many little shops to explore and Fort Ticonderoga is wonderful if you love history. We are actually located close ( within 10 miles) to both Lake George & Lake Champlain. A Star Trek museum is also in the town, that brings in many people. Especially during their conventions.
Why our property is special: The cabin is less than 1 mile from Putts Pond. It is wonderful if you enjoy swimming & fishing. People who kayak love it for its beauty, peacefulness and the cries of the loons. The people who have stayed in the cabin said they love it. A couple customers have seen deer, fox and bear while sitting on the front porch. We can't guarantee seeing any wildlife but you never know. We will try to accommodate you as best as we can, so you can enjoy your stay.

“Very cozy little cabin sitting in a beautiful piece of land in the Adirondack mountains. I enjoyed grilling and just sitting on the porch listening to all of the different sounds of nature. I actually saw deer, squirrels, and turkeys on porch. Owner is very accommodating and go to the extreme to make sure youre comfortable. I will surely be back soon. ”

“My 12 yr old Son and I stayed there at the end of August 2020. We found the cabin to be extremely clean and very tidy. The cabin had all the gear we needed for A pleasant stay. The beds were comfortable and we really enjoyed being there. The kitchen was nice and had all the utensils and items such as a microwave and coffee pot. The cabinet is located on a quiet street. The hosts told us of a small pond which was a 50 minute walk from the cabin. That was a nice treat swimming in the Lost Pond. We heard a couple of loons calling to each other as we swam, that was one of the highlights of the trip. The cabin is a 10 minute ride from downtown Ticonderoga which has some restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend this cabin to a friend or family to stay and relax. There was no cell phone service but thats all part of relaxing and getting away. Try and bring an inflatable tube or two-man boat to the pond, it would be a nice place to float and let your mind escape. The hosts were most accommodating and friendly and were not invasive at all.”

“My husband and I were grateful to find an accessible rental at the last minute and Mom's Cabin was perfect. The listed amenities were all there, plenty of towels, shampoo and soaps, etc. The kitchen was fully stocked, even some spices - all you need to bring is the food! The cabin was very private. Even though the owners lived in the next house up, they didn't intrude at all. It has a lot of screened windows and a nice cross breeze when they were opened. All in all Mom's Cabin was a cozy, comfortable place to stay.”

“I rented Moms cabin the last week of July 2017.I found the owners to be friendly and accommodating but never intrusive. To lend a little insight, one day Mary went out of her way to buy some D.V.D.s for me because the forecast for tomorrow was stormy and she thought I might be bored.Where do you find that degree of hospitality anymore? The grounds are well groomed and all on site amenities are intact. The location is private and quiet albeit a little traffic from Putts Pond. The cabin itself is very clean and well appointed in ADK. style. It's the little things that you don't catch at the onset, like the hummingbirds that visit their feeders on the porch several times a day ,to the view of the forest from your bed at dawn, or the surprise of seeing some little handycraft you had overlooked that make you appreciate the thought that went into creating Moms Cabin.I loved my stay and if availability prevails in my favor I look foreward to another week next year.Happy trails”

“On the long side, but want to give future guests the benefit of plenty of info: What a hidden gem! We stayed for 4 nights at Mom's Cabin, and the photos and description really don't do it justice. The owners were very easy going and thoughtful, as is obvious in the accommodations - there was not a thing missing that we needed. The cabin IS small, but it's perfect for two people, and there is even a privacy screen in case you want to utilize the pullout couch for another two people. The area is very peaceful. The cabin was spotlessly clean. I was worried about bugs if we sat outside on the porch, but when we arrived, there was even a screen tent set up with a small table and two chairs! There ARE two grills, one gas and one charcoal hibachi style - but be warned that the gas grill kept sputtering out even though the lp tank was half full (probably just needs a new regulator). We still managed to cook a small steak on it one night and the kabobs another night. We also used the stove and broiler (electric) which worked great. The decor of the cabin is adorable and very comfortable. No remote for the dvd player, but we managed just fine without it. ALL linens, and even some courtesy toiletries were all provided. Paper towels, saran wrap, foil, dish detergent, hair dryer, ironing board and iron, salt and pepper, coffee filters - all there. It was practically hotel living just without daily maid service. We will be back year after year, and probably for a longer stay. Putnam Pond right down the road is absolutely gorgeous. We didn't have to pay a fee to go use their boat launch at 7am, because the gate doesn't open until 9am - but would have happily paid the $6 if asked. We heard and saw several loons there - it was just heaven. We also fished on Eagle Lake which is just 4 miles up the main road (route 74) and also Lake Champlain - both free boat launches, though the Eagle Lake launch is slightly more primitive. We caught bass in Eagle Lake and both bass and walleye in Lake Champlain. The owners even left us some fresh garden veggies which we used for two dinners! Owners were very responsive when we encountered a minor electronic issue in the cabin. They do sell wood for $5 for a large stack for use in the outdoor fire pit, which we didn't even use, but were happy to leave for the next visitors. PROS: *Clean, quiet, comfortable. Powerful A/C! Delicious breezes. Definite pride of ownership on the whole property. Dish TV with plenty of channels. NO CELL SERVICE! :) Landline phone. Plenty of hot water, great shower pressure. Blackberry bushes! Very little road traffic. Less than 5 minutes away from hiking trails and beautiful Putnam Pond. 10 minutes away from convenience stores, Walmart, gas. Another 5 minutes to historic downtown with restaurants, shops and STAR TREK ORIGINAL SERIES SET TOUR (HUGE bonus for us!). Owners live right next door, but you wouldn't know it - they left us alone unless we needed them, and you can't see their property at all due to a natural shrub barrier. CONS: *Small, soft-ish bed for two large people (it's an adequate queen size, but it is difficult to get in and out for the person on the "wall" side of the bed,due to the room size). Small 3-drawer dresser which was used for storage of extra bed linens, so there was really no place to put our clothes, except for the hangers provided on an over-door rack (we just kept everything in suitcases). TV in bedroom is not hooked up to anything, so it just kind of takes up usable space (we thought maybe a taller dresser in there might make better use of space?). Shower is tiny, but that's to be expected. It's hard to find any cons, you can see I'm reaching here... All in all, we really have no complaints - this is just fantastic Adirondack accommodations, at an incredible value, which far exceeded our expectations, in every way - thank you Mom's Cabin!”

“Great place for a getaway. Perfect space for our family of 4 with two small children. Location great for day trips to Lake George and Lake Placid. The fort was a quick drive, and shopping amenities close by but cabin itself off the beaten path enough to ensure privacy. There is a nice hike to a pond within walking distance, and we enjoyed time spent simply relaxing at the property, Cabin comes with literally everything you need minus your food and clothes, and owners were very willing to accommodate needs. Great hospitality from owners ”

“My wife, my 3 yr old daughter and I stayed at this cabin for three nights during the Memorial Day weekend in 2016. Our stay was so enjoyable that at the end we didn't want to go back. Coming from the hustle-bustle of city life of New York City area this place was heaven for us. It is true that there is no cell phone network in the area but that's exactly what we wanted - a complete disconnect from the world. Our daughter had the time of her life as she was mostly found in the grass around the cabin. It's a small cabin but was decorated beautifully to keep us amused all the time. We could not visit the Putts pond nearby but the location is ideal as Lake Placid and Lake George are an hour's drive north and south respectively. Ticonderoga itself has a lot to offer. Fort Ticonderoga and Mount Defiance are full of history and beauty. Last but definitely not the least, the owner is very cordial and helpful. All in all, we loved the place and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to relax in the Adirondacks.”

“We love this place. It's the best kept secret in Ty. It's just minutes from everywhere. We come every year for a week. This place has everything you need and I mean everything. Just bring your own food. It's so quiet and peaceful. I didn't want to reveal this place but I wanted to share. I will just make sure I get my reservation early. The owners are great and will try and get what you need. See ya next year. The Smiths”

“My husband and I had a very pleasant 3 night stay in the cabin. It's really a small house, with full kitchen, satellite TV, and a big yard with 2 bbq's. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, providing plenty of local information including sharing where the wild blueberries grow! We loved the location, at the edge of the Pharaoh Lake wilderness and close to Ticonderoga. The cabin was very clean and well equipped. The one thing we did not like was the crinkly waterproof mattress protector!”
Owner's Response
“We now have a queen bed instead of the full, with a cover over the protector that won't be "crinkly".”
