Enjoy any season in the Adirondacks at this beautiful, recently renovated three-bedroom lakeside house on the east shore of Schroon Lake which can easily sleep 8. This house provides a summer or winter playground right on Schroon Lake with 100 feet of private lakeshore - half an hour from Lake George or Gore Mountain, three quarters of an hour from Saratoga Springs. There are gorgeous views to the northwest from all levels of the house so you get great lake, sunset and mountain views. On the 10 …0+ feet of shoreline, there is a small sandy beach, a dock, chairs for sitting, and all with easy access via a grassy ramp. The house is about a half a mile to the small town of Adirondack, which has a general store that sells convenience items and serves breakfast and lunch. There is also a park, tennis court, public beach, basketball court, playground, baseball field and post office right in Adirondack.
This house is a modern chalet, newly renovated and furnished in winter 2012. It has a open concept living room, dining room and kitchen which have sliding doors onto a large deck. The deck has a gas grill, lots of seating and great views. The living room has a large wood-burning fireplace with a flat screen television with DVD player. This main floor also has a spacious bedroom with a queen size bed, and a bathroom with a shower. Above the main level is a bedroom with a queen size bed and a double size futon.
Downstairs is a great game room containing a flat screen television with a DVD player and a pull out single bed. There is also a washer/dryer for your convenience. The lower level also has a walk out entrance on the lake side, a bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom with a shower. Its a great setup - grown ups can socialize upstairs while the kids have their space downstairs.
Amenities include wireless internet, cable, washer & dryer, speakers with MP3 player attachment, dishwasher, air conditioning, fireplace, and two large TVs with cable and DVDs. Linens and towels are provided, and the kitchen includes a coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, and dishes and cookware for 8. Our house is smoke free, but we allow pets, with prior permission. For your convenience, there are some DVDs, games and an assortment of books.
Summer activities include swimming at your private lakeshore, hiking, biking (either mountain or road!), fishing and lounging on the large deck, at the waterfront or on your private dock. Nearby Schroon Lake Village has shops, restaurants, and a marina where you can rent boats or take waterskiing lessons. Schroon Lake also has public docks, so if you bring a boat you can head over there by boat to shop or get pizza! There are public boat launches at both ends of the lake. At Saratoga Springs in July and August you can go watch the world's best thoroughbred racing at the Saratoga Race Track, or stroll through historic Saratoga Springs, with its fabulous Victorian houses and shops. Closer by is Lake George, with a large amusement park and lots of outlet shopping.
Enjoy a real North Country winter as Schroon Lake freezes over and the snow falls. Cross-country ski right outside your front door or on the lake or on nearby trails. About 40 minutes away is Garnet Hill Lodge with a large expanse of groomed trails. Downhill sking at Gore Mountain is just a half an hour away, with 2,537 feet of vertical, and plenty of cruisers, steeps and glades to satisfy any level of skier or rider. There is a well-tended network of snowmobile trails in the area as well. Nearby Chestertown has a ski/sledding hill with a rope tow and a small outdoor skating rink that is free to use on weekends. Ice fishing is a favorite local activity.

“My family and I recently had the pleasure of a weeks stay at this lakefront house. If youve never explored the southeastern side of the lake, I highly recommend it.Its a real treat. The 3-story newly-remodeled house is very comfortable and offers vacationers many amenities. The owners of this house have really thought of any and everything anyone might want or need whilst away from home. This 9 mile long Lake is pristine and quiet, perfect for swimming and boating. East Shore Dr. (where this house is located) is perfect for walking, running, and cycling with the lake always in full view. Stay here once and youll make plans to stay again.”

“We can't say enough about this absolutely wonderful home! No complaints whatsoever, all praise. My husband and I were awed upon entering the driveway and seeing the beautiful uphill property full of 100' hemlock and pine trees. The spacious upper deck nestled scenically among the tall trees draws you to want to sit there forever. The inside with three floors was huge, modern, and VERY clean. Nice bonus to have the A/C in July + ceiling fans. Big screen t.v. with all basic and cable channels. Generously stocked with very nice, clean furnishings, the kind you're not afraid to use. Clean, comfortable beds. If we had a rainy week - no problem - the place is like a little arcade - plenty to do and play. The highlight of our week was of course the LAKE. - WOW. We couldn't get enough of it. Hours went by and we didn't even feel it. Most of our days were spent on the lake either kayaking with our dogs, swimming with our dogs, bonfiring at the shoreline, or just vegging out on the chairs in the glorious northern sunshine. Schroon Lake is absolutely gorgeous - extremely clear and pristine - and enough life in it to not be boring. The property was in the perfect spot - best views of the lake and mountains from the shoreline AND the upper deck of house. It was very hard to say good-bye to on our last outing, but see you again. Other than the lake it was great seeing all the fun things we could do as an adult couple: an eclectic variety of restaurants and pubs, driving distance for day trips to Lake George, beer breweries, the charming villages of Schroon and Pottersville with shops and parks, grocery store, movie theater. We were lucky and caught a very talented live rock band playing 70's music on the front lawn of a restaurant one night complete with bonfire! The owners of the rental home were very nice, normal, and efficient to deal with. No hassles about anything. Always available and very helpful re questions and information. We were privileged to have been lucky enough for the use of their home, and very grateful to them. We will definitely be back God willing.”

“we rented this place last year 5 days for new year's eve and some skiing. it was wonderful. we were in 8, 2 families 4 kids in total and they all had a blast. the house is really charming, super spacious, warm, homey, it has everything you would need. the scenery is fantastic, overlooking the frozen lake. on new year's eve we had an situation because of the ice,the very steep driveway was completely frozen and we were not prepared for that, but the owners were super nice, they sent someone to take care of it and checked on us a couple of times. the drive to Gore mountains is only 20 minutes and very nice. we had some really good skiing. it was definitely a great vacation, we will go back very soon. ”

“We rented this camp for a weekend to fish the schroon lake derby. The camp was very nice, inside and out, and dog friendly. The owners were very nice and helpful, had firewood brought over to us. Great access to the lake and set back enough that it was quiet. My family really enjoyed the camp, really like the place. We will be back next year.”

“My husband and I rented the Woods House along with our 19-month old son in late September. We wanted a nice, relaxing quiet Fall weekend and this house was perfect. There were things to do, farms to visit, the lake to walk to, a really cute general store, etc. It's also about 15 minutes from the brewery (which has great beer) and the town of Schroon Lake, which has some nice restaurants, coffee shops, etc. The house is very cozy and has all the amenities. Enough pots and pans to cook breakfast and dinner, which we did. Kitchen also has sugar, coffee, etc which is nice that you don't have to bring your own. The fireplace is awesome and we enjoyed it after our son went to bed. The house also has a furnished basement with games and air hockey table. The view of the lake is amazing. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back. ”
