A 3,500 square foot, 4 bedroom, 3 full bath log home built in 2010 that has all the …modern amenities you can imagine. Large and well appointed kitchen with breakfast island; Flat screen television with DirectTV satellite and wireless internet; huge river rock wood fireplace adorned by a giant Moose head, large, 3 season screened in porch and elegant master suite... with a private gas fireplace...... all beautifully adorned in high end rustic decor. A walk out basement with ping pong table just adds to the fun and overall living space. This home is situated on 220 private acres on an 80 acre lake filled with Northern Pike and Bass. Jump off the dock and swim the cool spring fed water or embark on a trip in our kayaks, canoes, a paddleboat or one of several john boats. For those that want a truly remote experience, there is a 6 person lean-to right at the water's edge! There are two large fire pits on site for roasting marshmallows on cool evenings. Although the large, remote setting will offer you enough to keep busy we also have miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting and two large lakes, one of which, Harris Lake has a public boat launch for jet skiing and boating. All are just minutes from the house. In fact, the Hudson river is only a 2 mile hike through the woods or 3 miles by car. We are 45 minutes from Lake George, 30 minutes from Gore Mountain and 15 minutes from beautiful Long Lake where you can rent boats at the marina and cruise 14 miles to the end and view the spectacular scenery from the sandy waters of Turtle Beach. We are 5 minutes from a wonderful canoe/bike rental shop with easy access to a great trail system and right next door to the road leading to pristine Newcomb Lake and the Great Camp Santanoni. You'll also find one of only two Adirondack Visitor Interpretive Centers in Newcomb. Here you can hike interactive trails and view wildlife in an intimate setting. Goodenow Mountain is also just minutes away and a great way to spend an afternoon hiking to the fire tower on top and enjoying the amazing views. If you're looking for golf, Newcomb has a new, 9 hole course just down the road. It's terrific!

Coming back to Woodruff Lodge. The memory that outlasts the modern amenities, large bedrooms, comfort, and fun are the spectacular views to the north..... the fabled High Peaks.

Imagine sitting with your friends and family on the large wrap-around deck as the sun slowly sets. Off in the distance, Mt. Marcy, the highest mountain in New York state, is basking in the amber glow of the fading light....and it's not alone. Of the 46 high peaks in New York State that are over 4,000 feet, you can see 1/2 of them from the comfort of an Adirondack chair. The combination of the Adirondack high peaks viewed as a backdrop to a body of water is rare to see from a home yet it's right out the door of Woodruff Lodge.

If you seek the sound of loud neighbors right next door, well, there are many beautiful homes in Old Forge you can spend time in. If its amusement parks and strip malls, Lake George is wonderful and full of rental property. If its fine dining and shopping you seek, you can't beat Lake Placid. But, if you want the true Adirondack experience all while wrapped in rustic elegance in an exclusive, serene setting, you must visit Woodruff Lodge.

The town of Newcomb has excellent Verizon cell service and there is good reception at the lodge for those seeking to remain connected to the outside world. There is WiFi throughout the home.

The basement was finished in 2017 and includes a stunning, rustic walnut bar, 4th bedroom, and 3rd full bathroom.

“We rented Woodruff Lodge for an unforgettable two weeks at the end of August, in celebration of a birthday and in need of a life reboot. Matt and his family were extremely accomodating with our schedule and group, allowing us to enjoy the company of different sets of family and friends throughout our stay. Communication with Matt leading up to the arrival was great - he was very responsive to emails and provided a lot of information about the home and area. The lodge is fantastic - it's a well-kept, clean, comfortable, secluded, relaxing cabin just up the hill from the Woodruff Pond, built in a location that allows for views of the Adirondack high peaks. After only a short walk to the lean-to and pond, a well-stocked variety of boats were available and thoroughly entertaining. During the two-weeks we were at the lodge, on the property our group found ourselves swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, spotting wildlife, making campfires, and relaxing in the cabin. Nearby, we were able to go on several hikes, taking in the views from the top of the Goodnow Mountain fire tower, a day trip to Cascade/Porter, another to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake, to the Santanoni great camp, and one more to the Tahawus ghost town. There are so many things to do in and around the Newcomb area which make the Woodruff Lodge a perfect place to call your temporary home. Between the on-property and nearby activities, as well as a wonderful spot to rest, the Woodruff Lodge is the perfect place to go to recharge your batteries and spend time with people you care about. ”
