Located on scenic and private Upper St Regis Lake, adjacent to the St. Regis Canoe area, on a lake with many great camps with boat access only, Happenstance Boathouse is an historic boathouse with living quarters on the second floor. A full kitchen cozy living room and fabulous porch make you stay a delight. There are two bedrooms and a full bath in the boathouse. One bedroom has a queen sized bed, the second has two twin beds.

*Renters who need additional space may inquire about a separate …cabin with twin beds and full bath with claw foot tub-shower, which is next door. It is available for an additional price.*

Guests have access to the camp from the St. Regis Landing--- by boat only. A 15 foot Carolina Skiff outboard and a canoe are provided with the rental.
The boathouse has WIFI.

Crib and highchair available on request. A swing and sandbox are located on the property. Standard issue boxy orange life-vests are provided.

Rates

Boathouse Alone: Maximum occupancy typically 4, but additional small children might be accommodated. $3325/wk. Camp closes most years after labor day. Additional cabin sleeping two, with private bath, available for an additional fee- if interested please inquire.
Partial week rentals available on a sliding scale, inquire for cost. Longer stays prorated.

We collect 5% room tax as per Franklin County Regulations.
Payment collected in advance, in several installments but to be completed by June 1.

Rentals for more than a week are prorated.
Refunds generally available if I am able to rebook.

Boathouse with Cabin: Maximum occupancy typically 6, but additional small children might be accommodated. Payment plus security deposit to be paid, to be refunded on cancellation only if we are able to rebook. Add $400 to Boathouse alone weekly rates.

Smoking Policy: No Smoking anywhere inside. Smoking outside permitted as long as attention and common sense are used regarding fire hazards.
Cleaning Policy: Guests are asked to leave the premises neat. We have no outside cleaning service, but routine cleaning between rentals is provided in the cost of the rental. Trash should be carefully collected and bagged for transportation across the lake to the dump.
Linen Policy: Linens and towels are provided. If you prefer oversize swimming towels please bring your own.
Security Deposit Information: We collect a security deposit of $500, to be refunded after inspection of the property on the day of departure.

About Us: The camp is owned by the Weld-Brown family. We have been vacationing on Upper St Regis since 1964, and have been in the Adirondacks since 1920. Kathy Weld is a Professor Emerita of Mathematics at Manhattan College, an ADK 46er, and enjoys hiking in many parts of the country. Kathy's husband Sheldon Brown is a physician at the Bronx VA Hospital. They have two sons, Nathaniel (Emily) and Will . Family members are likely to be in camp in a separate building and available if you need assistanc

Why we think you will enjoy staying in Upper St. Regis Lake: A unique feature of Upper St. Regis Lake is the large number of great camps with boat access only. This creates an unusual environment- quiet and yet neighborly. Shopping is available in nearby Saranac Lake village just 15 minutes away, or in Lake Placid. This is an ideal location for relaxing, swimming, fishing, exploring the lakes and neighboring ponds by canoe, of hiking up St. Regis Mt. The Paul Smith's visitors interpretive center is just minutes away.
