In the shadow of Whiteface mountain nestled in the Adirondacks on pristine Union Falls Lake. Offering breath taking views in a serene setting. This cabin books by the week Saturday to Saturday. Though the cabin is only about 400 square feet it has a full kitchen, bathroom, small separate bedroom and loft. We listed occupancy at five but we prefer no more than three adults. Outside it features a deck, fireplace, gas grill, table and private dock. Small power boats, Kayaks and canoes are availab …le for rental by the week or on a daily basis. We do have a private launch if you wish to bring your own boat, but please keep in mind that we do have a ten hp limit on the lake. The seven mile long Lake offers great fishing for walleye, pike, bass, perch and blue gill. If fishing is not you thing take a peaceful canoe or kayak ride and watch for eagles, deer, moose or bear. There is also excellent trout fishing in the near by Saranac river. We are situated close to Lake Placid as well as Saranac Lake for day trips.

“We were thrilled to find this little cabin! The location is absolutely PERFECT! We were close to everything, yet felt a million miles away! We enjoyed easy access (within 5-15 min)to many shorter hikes with awesome views! (Silver mountain, Catamount, Cobble Lookout) as well as the High Peaks. You are also within 30 min of Saranac Lake or Lake Placid for grocery or exploring. Lakeside is situated right on the water with a private dock where we sat and relaxed looking out on Union Falls and the High Peaks! We enjoyed use of the cabins kayaks which are available at no charge and were able to spend many hours on the water exploring. We also found our hosts to be welcoming and helpful in getting to know the area. They shared some history of the campsite and area as well as recommendations on hikes! We felt like we were visiting family! The cabin is adorable - tiny but perfect for our needs. Everything was clean and new, the kitchen was well equipped and even a wood pile was graciously provided which lasted our full week stay. This was such a welcome treat - not having to stop and get firewood when we were out and about! The campground is very quiet especially during the week. It was my husband and I traveling with our college age son. We enjoyed the peaceful retreat and would come back in a heartbeat! Not sure I can offer any complaints or criticisms- except it's really hard to leave and go home! enjoy your stay!”

“Anyone who has the opportunity should stay at this campground! My family and I just spent an amazing week relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. I just booked our week for 2016 and I am already counting down the days until we return. The lakefront cabin was perfect and had everything we needed. The location of the cabin was spectacular with it's own private grassy area and the views of the lake and mountains were amazing from it's own private dock. The atmosphere was so quiet we forgot we were in a campground. The owner, Randall, was very helpful and accommodating. The area where this campground is located is quiet and secluded, but convenient to many hiking trails, the Ausable River, Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and more. If you are considering an Adirondack vacation, a stay at this place should be on the top of your list.”

“Absolutely fantastic. The cabin had everything we needed and more. A huge pile of wood and a fire pit made for great evenings. Randy, his wife Kathleen and their son were great hosts. really helped us out.. Very secure, no riff raff in the area, very clean. I liked it so much, I just booked the same week for 2015.”

“This was our perfect family destination. We have two small children (5 & 2) and a dog that spent more time in the water than on dry land. This quiet, out-of-the-way cabin is in an ideal campground, with large lots for all the running or relaxing we wanted to do. Most days, we spent much of our time fishing off of the dock, but we were also able to rent a very nice boat for a day to explore better fishing around the lake. We caught beautiful small mouth and a ton of very large sunfish. Both kids were extremely excited to see us bring in fish after fish! If you are looking for a place to keep connected to the world, this may not be it, but turning off our cell phones is a great way for us to relax! This was one vacation I did not need to recover from once I returned home. We were all disappointed that we had to leave after a very short week. Clean and comfortable, this cabin is cozy and perfect for a family looking to get away. The owners of the campground are extremely hospitable, friendly, and accommodating. We truly appreciated their beautiful cabin and lakefront access. We are very excited to return next year!”

“My wife and I spent two weeks in this lovely cabin, and we couldn't be happier. The cabin is small, but perfect for a couple. There is also a small side bedroom and a loft. The cabin is clean and attractive, with a well stocked kitchen (crockery, utensils, microwave, coffee-maker, toaster, etc.). The site has a fire pit, a gas grill, a picnic table, and a lawn gently sloping down to a wooden dock on the lake. (The lake is about 40 feet from the door of the cabin.) The lake is great for swimming, canoeing and kayaking. The lake has loons and ducks, and, on one trip, we spotted a beaver dam. (Other people there have seen eagles and moose.) The campsite is peaceful and quiet, even at the height of the season: most of the other residents are RV campers who come only for the weekends, and, even then, everyone at McIntyre's seems to value peace and quiet. The owners are warm and gracious hosts. They were always there to answer any questions or help out. Great hiking trails nearby include Silver Lake Mountain, Catamount (one of my favorite Adirondack hikes), and the Silver Lake Bog Trail, which has a wheelchair accessible boardwalk. Many more trails and attractions are a short drive away; but the site is so nice you may want to stay put!”

“This was our first trip to Union Falls Lake, so we were a little unsure how it would be as a vacation destination for a week in the mountains. It could not have been better. The cabin sits on a nice lawn next to the lake, with a private dock and spectacular views south and west, a beautiful and peaceful place to relax and plan our adventures. The cabin itself is small, but beautifully finished, and it has everything we needed. The proprietors were friendly, professional, and very helpful. The lake doesn't hold trout, a key goal for the trip, but we found good trout fishing at many spots nearby. The lake turned out to be wonderful for quiet evening canoeing. Overall, we found the campground was ideally located for access to Plattsburgh, Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, Wilmington, and Lake Champlain, with drives of 30-40 minutes. In a campground with 30+ sites, and staying over the 4th of July, we had some concerns about party noise before we got there. However, the sites are spaced well to afford privacy and quiet, and our neighbors were obviously there for peace, just like us. We will go back! ”

“A friend and I stayed for a week in the new, smaller cabin at this campground and we loved it. The cabin is not big, but it's perfectly functional, with three sleeping areas, a nice bathroom and a kitchen that's well stocked and easy to use. What IS big about this place is the outdoors. A gas grill, a picnic table and a fire ring stocked with logs and kindling are right out the door. The large lawn slopes gently down to Union Falls Pond. (It's misnamed: It's a big lake!) The dock makes a great place to drink your morning coffee as you look across the lake to Whiteface Mountain in the distance. The best part of all this is that the yard is screened by trees and brush and a fence. It feels like you have your own place in the North Woods, and not at all like you're staying in a campground. We rented a fishing boat for a day, and got good advice from Randall, who clearly knows his lake. He pointed us in the right direction, as we could tell when the fish fry provided both dinner and breakfast. In general, Randall and Kathleen are terrific hosts. This is a great quiet place to spend some time. Loons sing you to sleep, and you wake up ready for the next day's adventures. Anyone who loves the outdoors should stay here. Just don't do it during the times I plan to return!”
