“This home, in one word, is spectacular. We just returned from our first stay at Camp Nutmeg and still have goosebumps. From the detailed woodwork to inspired layout to the thoughtful and careful furnishings, to so much more, Camp Nutmeg left us in awe and with respect for the craftsmanship and love of the ADK shared by its owners. Our memories made at Camp Nutmeg will be forever. Thank You!”

“We stayed yet again this past Summer at Camp Nutmeg for the Fourth of July week. We are scheduled again to visit for the Thanksgiving holiday...it is now a tradition and something the entire family looks forward to. I would give my right arm to continue vacationing at this heavenly camp. It is where we can relax, enjoy the outdoors, enjoy each other. Quality time spent together is priceless and this is the perfect and only place we want to visit. It's like each and every time we are returning "home" and making memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to the staff, the owners and everyone that allow us to continuously visit Camp Nutmeg. We are so appreciative of you all!”

“This was the 5th time that I have stayed at Camp Nutmeg and every time I stay I discover something fabulous that I either did not get to utilize previously or has been added to the camp since our prior stay. Up until this visit I had always rented the luxury camp for a long weekend during mid-January with my family and inlaws. We enjoyed all of the winter aspects the house had to offer such as: The gourmet kitchen and outdoor gas grill to prepare meals with the food we brought so that we could stay at the camp and enjoy every minute without leaving for a decent meal; the year round out door hot tub with snowflakes falling around us or a clear night with the sky full of stars; the sauna on the bottom floor right next to the giant rain shower to cool off in after the sauna; the pool table on the same floor in the game room with 2 large screen TVs and media center; the queen size bedroom off the media room secluded from the other bedrooms on the floors above so that I could get up early and not be afraid of waking anyone else; the ping pong table where I won several ping pong tournaments that we organized; the fact that there are 6 bathrooms that allowed a maximum of having only 2-3 people to have to share a bathroom even at full occupancy; Baxter Mountain hiking trail access right from the back yard; 4 fireplaces (in front of the beautiful lean to, outside the game room, INSIDE the game room, and on the main floor in the open concept cathedral ceiling dining/living room); completely functional office with wifi internet access AND large screen TV; an out of the magazine Master bedroom with poster bed and private bathroom with two copper sinks and a walk in closet; and these are only the amenities that I enjoyed! There is so much more on the third floor with 3 private bedrooms, a huge bunk room with 5 single beds, 3 more full bathrooms, and a kitchenette. The third floor overlooks the living/dining room with the cathedral ceiling. I showed pictures of the camp to all of my friends who were so envious even though the pictures don't do the camp justice. I finally convinced the women in my running group to visit Camp Nutmeg which one of them, Sally Slocum booked for this past weekend. We just got home a couple of hours ago. WOW is all any of us could say. Because of my previous winter visits during the winter, I was totally unaware of the perfectly groomed landscaping outside. Even I was floored by the beauty and attention to detail. We made our best effort to experience everything the inside and outside had to offer including sitting by the brand new built in pool and pool house with 2 outdoor showers and bathroom. It was a perfect sunny, 73 degree day. That was just the first day. The next day we went for a run and hiked a nearby mountain. Some of the women went into town to shop. Of course all of the women enjoyed all the indoor amenities as well! We even cancelled dinner plans for the second night so that we could spend more time at camp. Everyone thanked me profusely for recommending Camp Nutmeg. None of them could say enough about how much they enjoyed our stay. We have already decided to try to make this an annual vacation and plan to book for next year as soon as possible!”

“We have been coming here since 2012! It is "our home away from home". Our lives are busy and career driven and Camp Nutmeg is the best therapy money can buy! It is a place that we can completely, and unconditionally relax. I hope to be able to return year after year for as long as the owners' keep it available to rent. There is no place like it!!”

“We stayed here with family and it was beyond perfect. Everything you need is here. There is plenty of wood for every fireplace in the house. The screened in porch is so peaceful with a fire in the pot belly stove. The bunk house is not shown and there are 4 single beds in this room and another pot belly stove. It is warm and cozy. The caretakers go above and beyond!! They are patient is teaching you how to use the tv and all the other electronics you need to know about. Don't make plans in the area because you are not going to want to leave this house!!! The Deer Heads Inn in Elizabethtown is a great place for dinner and too far from the house. This is a great getaway!!!!”

“This was the second year in a row that we stayed at Camp Nutmeg over the long weekend in January. I think the fact that we returned a second time and have every intention of returning again is indicative of what a fabulous time we had in a beautiful retreat. In 2013 we spent the first several hours just admiring the intracacies of the elaborate finish carpentry and attention to detail along with discovering all the amenities listed, even more elaborate than we expected. There was more than ample room for the maximum occupancy of guests to enjoy all aspects of the retreat whether someone wanted alone time or to engage in a group activity. I, personally, never spent any time outside except for the hot tub (my favorite place to relax during the cold winter), but the other members of my group thoroughly enjoyed the lean to and hiking trail. We were able to visit Lake Placid, only about a 20 minute drive and enjoy the attractions and activities available there. The gourmet kitchen allowed you to make meals from scratch if so desired, although when we returned this year (2014) we prepared the majority of our lunch and dinners before arriving and cooked them as needed to allow more time to enjoy the atmosphere. The kitchen off the game room was fabulous for storing our extra beverages and food supplies allowing us more room in the main kitchen at meal time. All supplies, cooking and otherwise, were well labeled. We were not able to meet the caretaker in person to show us the ropes which did make it a little difficult to know where everything was located, but he was always readily available by phone or email if we had any questions and/or concerns. I believe that every member of my group would give Camp Nutmeg a 5 Star rating! You could not beat the price per person which was even less than you would pay to stay at an economy motel with none of these amenities. If you could think of something you wish was there, chances are, it was (with the exception of a Keurig). :) I would recommend Camp Nutmeg to anyone with an appreciation for the finer things in life. Sincerely, Terry”
