“The Retreat was a perfect setting for our family of 10 to spend a week together. The house is large, comfortable and nicely furnished. We used the paddle boats, canoe and large gas grill. The location is close to Inlet and Old Forge. Lots of chairs on the dock and the screened porch was a nice plus. Bathrooms are large and well done and the kitchen, though small, is well-equipped. Two refrigerators were very helpful. Large DR table was great for group meals. Well be back. ”

“We stayed here this past weekend to celebrate our Mother's 80th birthday and could not have chosen a better location or better hosts. The rental property was absolutely "as described" and the house is both wonderfully decorated and very well-provisioned (minus what you are told to bring on your own). The location could not have been better. Absolutely beautiful scenery and so many options as far as R&R were concerned: onsite canoes (as well as a rowboat and paddleboats) and also a pontoon "party" boat available for an additional fee (but very fairly priced for the area). We all enjoyed evening outdoor fires as well as just sitting on the dock and watching/listening to the loons call. Just far enough off the beaten path to have a little less on-lake traffic than some of the larger lakes in the area but still close enough to anything and everything you would ever want to do during a vacation in the Adirondack. We look forward to coming back ... hopefully soon !!”

“We rented your beautiful lake home this year for one week. We took advantage of all it had to offer. Early morning swims began everyday. A short walk into town for a great Latte was also a regular activity. Kayaking the full length of 6th and 7th lakes kept a smile on my husbands face. Your cottage is beautiful! It was perfect for the 9 of us. Evening camp fires and daily duckling feedings kept my grandkids busy. They ate right out of their hands, they are 16 & 17. We were extremely satisfied with the accommodations, including my 96 year old mother in-law. We would and will recommend this location to our friends and family! Thank you for helping make our vacation one to remember. Debi Hoevenaar ”

“This vacation rental certainly exceeded our expectations. We have stayed in quite a few rentals in different parts of the country and this is one of the few that actually looked like the pictures on the internet - we were pleasantly surprised. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with everything needed to prepare a variety of meals. We cooked almost every meal for the week we were there and the kitchen was very comfortable and roomy (the grill was nice have too) It was nice also that the owners allowed us to bring our dogs along. We all had a great time and were very comfortable at the camp. The pontoon boat availability allowed us to explore along sixth and seventh lakes and take in some beautiful sunsets and scenery (and loons). Our dogs really enjoyed the antics of the chipmunks that scurried around the woodsy areas of the property (being from FL chipmunks were quite a novelty to them.) The camp is located close to the towns of Inlet and Old Forge where you can shop and explore and get supplies so even though you feel secluded at the camp, you are not far from stores and a few restaurants. We would stay here again and highly recommend this camp. ”

“We have stayed at this "heaven on earth" three summers, one fall and for the first time, one Thanksgiving week. The well appointed, meticulously kept property is comfortable, welcoming, relaxing and a true mountain retreat. The views are spectacular. The lake is pristine, quiet, private and breathtaking. We love the fact that our kids can jump off the dock, swim in the lake, or take the canoes out...and we don't have to worry about them being run over by a jet ski or 30 other boats on the lake. In the summer we enjoy the use of the pontoon boat, the fire pit and just sitting on the screened porch, deck or dock and taking it all in. Mark & Cheryl's (the owners) generosity is evident in all of the details in decorating...and everything they have added to ensure comfort of their guests. Over time they have added a second fridge, small table for games, extra dishes (from LL Bean!) and kitchen tools (like a blender)! And well maintained everything!! The memories our family and friends have of our stays at the 6th Lake Retreat will last a lifetime! Summer Stays....warm dips in the lake, jumping off the dock, hikes, fishing, canoes, reading a book in the ADK chair on the dock!... Autumn Stays...breathtaking colors, mirror-like lake reflections, crisp fall mornings, mistaking the falling leaves for the sound of rain... Thanksgiving Stay...stepping back in time to simpler special moments, complete quiet on the lake, wildlife at your window (loons, deer, muskrats, chipmunks), Christmas on Main Street in Old Forge... If you are looking for the perfect mountain get-a-way...this is it! Mark & Cheryl...thanks for sharing your home with all of your guests!”
