“Another wonderful stay! We can't say enough about how much we enjoy staying at this home. It is absolutely charming and has every amenity you could possibly want or need. The deck and riverfront are beautiful. The location is ideal as you can walk to everything in town including the canoe and kayak rental. We can't wait to come back!”

“This house is amazing! The location is great because when you're in the house it is quiet and peaceful yet only one block from main street. The home itself is spacious, yet still cozy with a nice size kitchen and living room and three large, comfortable bedrooms. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door. The deck is off the living room and is large and private with a nice cooking area and comfortable chairs. Everything is clean. Whether you are looking for a place to hang out and relax, or home base to come back to after a day's adventure this home fits the bill. Highly recommended.”

“We stayed in February and as soon as we entered this cozy chalet we enjoyed the warmth and holiday seasonal decor. The Moose River was steps away and beautiful. The chalet was located within walking distance of village stores and easy driving to McCauley mountain, where the x-country skiing was wonderful. We also enjoyed snowshoeing, sledding and ice skating nearby. We would stay there again. Thanks for your hospitality!”

“The SciSci Chalet is just wonderful. This summer was the third time my husband and I have taken our two children(age 11&12) to the Adirondacks to enjoy our summer vacation. We always return to the SciSci Chalet.
Location is perfect, private dock for daily kayaking or fishing and close to town for fun shopping. Several restaurants are close enough that we can walk to town for dinner and even catch an early movie. My children's favorite is the water park nearby, be sure to take advantage of the 2 day ticket if you have time.
The owners were very easy to work with and offered many suggestions of places to go and things to do with our children. The suggested hikes and sightseeing were a highlight of our week. We even took our kids horseback riding for the first time.
We finished our perfect week with a Bon fire and roasted marshmallows in the backyard gathered around the fire. Such wonderful memories. This Chalet is truly a slice of heaven and we hope to return again next summer!

Artfully decorated and perfectly maintained, this beautiful property contains all the necessary modern amenities while maintaining a unique rustic appeal. The Sci Sci Chalet is truly a rare find.

“My wife and I made a last minute reservation at Sci Sci Chalet for our first visit to the Adirondacks and took our two teenaged children with us. I had camped in the area as a youngster, but my wife and kids were pretty much unfamiliar with the region. We found Sci Sci Chalet to be just like it looks on the website. It is well appointed and comfortable. When you first pull in to the parking space in front of the home, you get a feeling of escape! I immediately got the feel of being in a woodsy, secluded spot, even though we were barely more than a block from the main drag in Old Forge. That is one of the best qualities of this rental - location. You really get the feel of being in the Adirondacks, but once you walk off the property, you are two blocks from a coffee shop, minature golf, an ice cream parlor and an IGA food store. Go another block and you are in the hub of Old Forge and all its restaurants and shops! Tinckner's boat rental is just a block away as well, right along the Moose River. We had a great time kayaking the Moose on our first day.
Getting back to the rental - we found the home to be very comfortable for the four of us. The kitchen was well equipped, although we took advantage of all the great places to eat in and around Old Forge most days! The living room area was comfortable and we enjoyed the wifi which we used often to seek contact information for our activities. We enjoyed the deck and spent a great deal of time there watching a doe and her two fawns walk through our yard as well as the ducks who would visit us from the river.
I would highly recommend Sci Sci Chalet. For those who like peace and quiet, but also like the idea of having easy access to all that Old Forge has to offer, it is an ideal option.
