“Oh my goodness, we had such a wonderful stay, and find your home magical. My parents are so happy to be here and my mom loves all the plants and flowers you have on the property. It is so perfect, no wonder you were sad to end your week here. It was so lovely to take in the natural beauty of the surroundings on the boathouse rooftop and the terrace off of the master bedroom upstairs. So peaceful and tranquil -- especially early morning. Thank you so much for everything, we would love to return again!”

“Myself & 7 of my sisters & cousins have been coming here for the last 13 yrs and it is definitely our Happy Place. We all look forward to this trip every year. The owners are pleasant to work with, the cottage is beautiful and the view is amazing. We relax all weekend sitting on the deck that sits right over the lake (above the boat house) and swimming. We've made many wonderful memories over the years.”

“Thank goodness for Edelweiss. In light of the covid pandemic we managed to leave it all behind while at Edelweiss. Its all there, sandy swimming, sunsets, fires under the nights sky and of course that beautiful lake we call George. This year was special for us because we celebrated an engagement, my daughters boyfriend proposed, theres no better setting to celebrate than Edelweiss, thanks again ladies.”

“A very nice chalet on a beautiful, flowered lot. The views are tremendous, with both dock and deck to further enjoy hanging out by the water. We made good use of the nice, new grill, outside eating area and the fire pit. The kitchen is small but had everything we needed. A wonderful week!”

“This was our 5th year staying at Edelweiss. What can I say other than it speaks for itself with our continuing return here. “Thank you for sharing 'your slice of heaven'(as Deb mentioned) with our family. Your family home was the best property we have rented on Lake George. Absolutely beautiful views from a quiet cove facing east that allows longer days of warm sun & water and incredible sunsets (our family captured some gorgeous ones). Your home was homey & comfortable for our adult family of six even on the one rainy day when our family played some of your board games and watched movies from a comfortable big couch. We would love to be considered for future summer rentals and may look for weekends available for fall foliage! Thank you again!”

“Edelweiss is a lovely property. We've rented it twice and will likely again. The access to the water, swimming area and dock are exceptional. The home is spacious and comfortable with 2 king bed rooms a queen room and two twins. It's great for a family or friends sharing a rental. The cove and dock area are nicely protected if you have a boat and the neighbors are quite nice. I highly recommend! ”

“What a wonderful place to vacation. The house was perfect for 4 couples. We loved the location and the outdoor area. We spent much time outside around the fire pit and on the upper deck catching a breeze and the sunset. We rented a pontoon boat for the week so the dock space was perfect. We also brought along our jet skiis and had plenty of space to tie them up around the dock. The location was close to a little grocery store and the "View" restaurant. The beach area behind the house was perfect for floating on our rafts and catching some rays. The house had all the conveniences that you would expect - spacious livingroom & bedrooms. Would highly recommend this place. The owner was very responsive to our phone calls and emails and a joy to deal with. ”

“An excellent stay at Edelweiss. I grew up on this lake and have rented many properties in my adult life. The house was perfect for our group with 2 bedrooms and a full bath on each floor. Also 2 rooms with king beds was fantastic. The house was spotless, comfortable and and well appointed paling only in comparison to the grounds which were spectacular. Flat lawn to the wide dock with room for your boat. Excellent sandy swimming with a small beach for the little ones. Nice outdoor fire pit and covered patio for dining. I would suggest a roll down shade at the end of the patio to block the sun at dinner time. The sun as it sets is beautiful and shouldnt be missed but can be intense during dinner. We dealt pretty easily by hanging a sheet with clothespins. Worked great. Hope to return next year. I highly recommend this property. ”

“We love Edelweiss, my family and I have been staying at Edelweiss for the last five years and will continue our summer vacation there. Edelweiss has everything you could ask for in a vacation rental. Sandy shallow beach, boat dock, and the deck over the boat dock is great for star gazing, fire pit, kayaks, fishing poles, life jackets, and plenty of water toys for the little ones. Edelweiss you own a piece of our hearts, and of course the Queen of the American lakes is right outside your door.”

“Very lovely home and absolutely perfect set up for my family. We have three kids under 10 and the depth of the water was great for all three. The access point was easy to get in and out of the water. The boat house was beautiful for drinks at night and coffee in the morning. Outside firepit made the stay for me to enjoy both lake and camp fire! Only two comments:
1- same as others have posted: the tree stump coffee table. Too large for the room, three shin injuries from banging into the protruding sides. Ended up wrapping blankets around the edges to prevent bumps. Second, grill on porch needs repair. The left side was slanting down and inward and looked like it was going to fall off. Very nice for charcoal grilling though. Recommend providing or taking a charcoal starter though. Would definitely go back to this house. Beautiful, quiet and well kept. ”

We also get many comments that it is beautiful and very camp like, but you are right, it is large. Regarding the grill, we finally found a replacement and it was slightly too large so we'd have to remove the stonework on the chimney to make it work. So, we try to patch it up as best we can. “The Chalet and grounds were lovely. We had perfect weather for our stay. The little beach area was perfect for our 3 yr. old grandson while our 8 yr. old granddaughter loved jumping off the dock. Sunsets were spectacular off the upper deck area each evening. A very peaceful area away from the hustle of the village. My family really enjoyed our stay.”

“ The cabin on the lake was as quiet and relaxing as you said it was. We did the tourist things all day, ate at the local restaurants, and relaxed at night. Your clean up and landscape crews were never seen but their efforts were. Fishing off the dock at sun up and sunsets at night, Wow. Thank you for the serene and relaxing opportunity. My only comment is the tree stump coffee table. It was magnificent but just a little to large for the space.”

“Our family had a wonderful and relaxing time at Edelweiss and we plan on returning. The chalet is well maintained and very comfortable with beautiful views and easy access to all the interest points in the area including shopping. Lake access at the chalet is excellent with a lawn that leads to both a sandy beach and boathouse/dock. The top of the boathouse has patio furniture/table chairs where we enjoyed breakfast. Barbara is wonderful as well. Thank you again for sharing your chalet with us!”

“This is our 8th year renting this cottage and we love it. The cottage and the swimming /deck area are beautiful. You cannot beat the view. The owners do a great job maintaiming this property and are so pleasant to deal with. We plan on coming back for many years. I would definitely recommend renting this cottage ”

“I've been vacationing in LG since the late 80's and in that time have stayed in motels and houses. This property is great.
On/VIA land - a general store is right down the street, so the daily trips became somewhat of a ritual. Although there is no trailer storage at the house, just talk to the folks at the general store and they should be able to help. You can also walk down to Sans Souce, a local restaurant, but just be sure you have lots of time. Food is good, but service takes time. The house is very clean, AC only upstairs, so bring fans. We love the covered area where there is a picnic table. This year we brought a 10 x 10 pop up canopy which enable us to extend it somewhat so we could cook on our portable grills. Bring a grill as the charcoal grill is a bit awkward to use where located. The kitchen is small, but hey, you shouldn't be cooking full meals on vacation....relax!!! Docking the boat is easy too at the boat house, which has spectacular views while on the top deck.
Via water - sandy bay is right around the corner...and the views are awesome.
I would give a strong recommendation to this property”

“My husband and I spent a week here with our dear friends and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The house is adorable and cozy. The view from the porch and the deck is spectacular. It's location is ideal for both families and couples. There is so much to do in the area but if you wanted to, you could just stay on the property and do absolutely nothing. This is a quiet, beautiful neighborhood away from the hype and noise of the western shore of the lake. We would definitely go back. ”

“Took my mother here for a much needed get away. We found it to be better than our expectations! A beautiful home nestled just yards from the water with spectacular views!
First time staying on the east side of the lake. Found it to be a much different experience than the "rat race" of the west side. So relaxing.
I highly recommend the rental to anyone that enjoys boating, swimming, sunning, campfires and stars!
Truly a home away from home!

“Our group of eight friends spent a long weekend at Edelweiss in September. It was still warm enough for swimming, which we did from the boathouse/dock. The upper level of the dock was a beautiful place from which to view sunsets, and on our weekend, the total lunar eclipse! The house is clean and spacious with wonderfully comfortable beds. The front porch (facing the lake) provided shelter from wind/rain and still allowed us to be outdoors. The working fireplace in the living/dining area (with firewood on site) added additional warmth and ambiance to our evenings. The owners were accessible, professional, and friendly in all our communications. The only caveat I have about Edelweiss relates to the kitchen. Our group of eight likes to cook and eat in rather than go out to restaurants. The galley kitchen is really a one-person deal and rather difficult to work in. For many people, this would not be an issue since "going on vacation" also means a vacation from preparing meals. All in all, this is a lovely property in a beautiful location on the most spectacular lake in the Adirondacks.”

“My family of five (children ages 14, 2, and 9 months) enjoyed a great week at Edelweiss. The house provided more than enough room for us, and accommodated day visits from our extended family (in laws) very easily. The house was charming and had all of the necessities to make our stay comfortable. We spent very little time inside, however, as the outdoor spaces are ideally appointed and situated to enjoy the most beautiful lake in the world. We enjoyed many sunsets from the upper boat dock, we jumped off and swam from the dock, and our young children had the perfect zero entry beach area to build sand castles, wade in the water and swim. We spent a great deal of time on the patio, enjoying coffee in the morning, and cocktails in the evening. We made great use of the charcoal grill and sat around the camp fire in the nights once the children were in bed. I would highly recommend this property, and we hope to enjoy it again in the coming years. ”

“We had a wonderful time and the house was perfect and beautiful! It was nice to be able to relax on the patio and be so close to the water. The bay was so quiet and the boathouse deck was perfect to watch the sunset. This is now our favorite side of the lake. The location of the little store down the street was perfect and we had fresh picked blueberries every morning. We loved staying at Edelweiss and look forward to coming back next year

“Our family has been coming to Lake George since the early 80's. This year was the first time we rented a home. Edelweiss owns a piece of our hearts. This home has everything you need for an enjoyable relaxing stay at the lake. The sandy beach area was perfect for my 2 year old grandson to play in the water without a life jacket. The boat dock sundeck was a perfect place for morning coffee and paper. There was ample lighting at the dock for a night swim and which also made it easy to identify while returning from fireworks by boat. The property has western exposure which makes for a full day of water activities. We enjoyed the lakeside firepit under the starry Adirondack skies. Edelweiss we look forward to returning. “Perfect!!!
We had a beautiful week at the lake - exactly what i was looking for. The house had everything we needed for a perfect vacation. the views from the boathouse deck were amazing and i would go back in a heartbeat.
There is so much to do in the village as well - just a short drive to dinning and mini golf, not to mention the best ice cream in the world at Martha's Dandy Cream. The only problem, i never wanted to leave that deck!!!!”

“Best family vacation on the Lake ever, and we have been coming here for 27 years! The home is exactly as described and lacks nothing to make your family's stay there totally comfortable, enjoyable, fun and, above all, relaxing. The western exposure provides great afternoon sun for water activities with shady areas on shore for those who choose to watch or read/relax. The dock provided a secure location for our 30 foot boat. The large, flat lawn area on the back of the house is a great play area for the kids. We ate all of our meals on the picnic table affording all a spectacular view of the lake and surrounding mountains. We definitely are planning a return. My only regret was renting for only one week. Edelweiss may be the best kept secret on the lake.”

“We stayed at this beautiful lakefront home on Memorial Day for our family reunion - it was perfect! I fell in love with the property in the listing because it reminded me of homes in Germany and I was so happy that it was available. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the back (either on the deck over the water or in the quaint yard) and soaking in the view from the lake. I would happily return!”

“7 of my sisters and cousins have rented the Edelweiss Chalet for the past 3 years and it has been one of the highlights of the year for all of us. The view is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. It was the perfect place for us to relax and relive so many childhood memories and catch up with what was happening in our current lives. The cottage had plenty of room and was very comfortable. We plan to go there annually for as long as we can. We were satisfied with just taking local walks, swimming and spending many hours on the beautiful deck overlooking the lake, but the Lake George area offers so much more if you really want to be more active. I would recommend this cottage to any group that is looking to stay in the Lake George area.”

“Have been going to LG for about 40 years...usually stayed on other side of lake....what a difference this was...beautiful home, peaceful setting, short walk to dock where we kept our boat, water area is perfect for small children to go swimming (which they did) 4 bedrooms which were all great, 2 bathrooms which accommodate everyone if you are there with family, and a wonderful grill on the porch which is incorporated on the back side of the inside fireplace. I think we ate outside every night. Kitchen was a little tight, but who cares, everything was there that you needed to make it a wonderful vacation. We walked every day from the house down the streets which went around in a loop, so that was perfect, especially if you are a runner...very enjoyable. It's probably a 10 min drive to the downtown strip, if I remember right. We had 2 small babies and the only thing I would be concerned about is the table in the living room...that is the only thing I would change. I must say that our whole family thought this was one of our best vacations at LG in all our years of travelling there....and the flowers outside...just beautiful! I would highly recommend .”

“2011 marked the 3rd year that my friends and I have rented the lovely waterfront chalet known as "Edelweiss". The property is unique in that there is a little bit of everything. There is a nice lawn where the ladies can lay out and catch some sun or the guys can play with the frisbee or football that is often brought along. The dock is great for fishing (and can accomodate docking a fishing boat) and the upper deck, which we refer to as the "boat dock deck", is wonderful for realxing with a good book and a glass of wine. The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths that can accomodate 4 couples very comfortably. The kitchen is a tad small but was updated this year with new appliances and flooring which was a nice surprise! Plus, if you are on vacation hopefully you dont have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen! Outside there is a grill which is attached to the house that we use almost every night we are there. Also, there is a large picnic table that is big enough for all of us plus all the food. Our group looks forward to our week at Lake George every year and partly because Edelweiss is such a wonderful place to stay! Cant wait for 2012!!
