TESTIMONIALS-
-"Our family of seven enjoyed a week's vacation at this lovely home. The home is private, spacious, quiet, nd relaxing. Private bedrooms and baths for all. Well-equipped kitchen (the best we've seen!). Melissa is a very accommodating host, excellent with communication and planning. Lake George is a beautiful place to visit and a vacation worth taking! Thanks, Melissa, for sharing your lovely home.
"Thanks so much. We had a wonderful time that went much too fast. Your house has everything, and more, that is needed. It was so nice to meet you after all the faceless e-mails! Again, thank you.
Thank you for everything! As usual, we all had a great time. We try to clean up after ourselves as best we can. The cold weather and snow won't keep us from a campfire. We all love the house and property so much. It is exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely be coming up next year. Thanks again!!!Thank you again for the use of such a lovely home and beautiful setting.
Thanks for [lending us] your great house! It suited our needs perfectly. Your multiple bathrooms allowed us all to get out so much faster! Your naturalized yard was so relaxing and beautiful! We lounged on your wonderful boathouse deck one evening with the moon full, and then we toasted marshmallows over a perfect campfire. That memory will last for a long time. Much luck to you with your ecological awareness endeavors!
Went up for a few days at the end of March and had a truly relaxing, lovely experience. Melissa was extremely nice and helpful by e-mail and in person. House was even better than pictures gorgeous and meticulously maintained. Deck has incredible views of the lake perfect for sunning and reading even on the less sunny days. On the chillier day, we stayed close to home and enjoyed the cozy living room with gas fireplace and watched DVDs and ate homemade meals cooked in the well-appointed kitchen every pot/pan/utensil you could ever need! Had a campfire the next night in the fire circle and roasted hot dogs and smores while looking up at a million stars. Everything you need in terms of grocery, restaurants, supplies, is nearby in Bolton Landing or Lake George Village. Took small side trips but mainly just enjoyed down time in a really beautiful setting. Hot water was excellent and plentiful. Would love to come back in summer for boating and swimming, but really loved how quiet the neighborhood and lake were during the off-season.We had a wonderful time. the whole family was thrilled with the cabin, the lake, the boathouse, everything!
We had a very nice time. The lake is so beautiful and many fish made themselves available for our family fishermen!! The house was very comfortable and the dock area perfect for our needs! Thanks again.
That house is worth every penny.
This is one fabulous home!! Super well-equipped. We had a great time! We've looked at other places and see that yours is prime real estate.
Your homes are just beautiful, and they are kept in such immaculate condition
Dreams Do Come True! [We] thoroughly enjoyed our mini vacation at your most warm and beautiful beach house with some of our best friends. We look forward to returning next year!
The place is much, much nicer than I ever imagined. Its so private for everyone both inside and outside the house.
I just wanted to say thank you again. You have a wonderful house. It has a very warm and welcoming energy. Our whole family had a great time. My granddaughter who is 2 just loved walking down to the lake and everyone had to take turns bringing her down there. She is very interested in nature and loved the lake, the mountains, and Mr. Moon. And she made sure everyone saw all of this. Just before we left she asked me to bring her down to the water and she wanted everyone to go down there, which we did. It was a nice ending to a great weekend
I was planning on sending you an email to let you know what a truly wonderful time we had. The house was even better than expected and with baby gates, high chairs and cribs it really felt like home!! We can't thank you enough for lending us your beautiful home. Our family made some wonderful memories during this past week. I've told everyone about the house and you may get some future rentals out of it Again, thank you so much for opening your doors to us. May your home always be filled with happiness and people who appreciate its beauty.
Thank you for an amazing weekend!

About Us: As running the rental houses is my full-time work, I say I'm an innkeeper! Living just 2 miles away, year round, I can take good care of the property and my guests. I promote policies and property care that keep the lake clean and clear, and love concerts at the Sembrich Museum in Bolton and the Lake George Music Festival..
Why we think you will enjoy staying in Diamond Point: One good reason is because, according MSN news, Lake George is the cleanest lake in the USA. It makes note of the fact that Lake George is fed by mountain streams, and resides largely on protected forest land, with little manmade activity outside of the village. The article also praises the lake for being attractive to vacationers.
Why our property is special: Privacy, privacy, privacy. Inside and outside the house and at the waterfront, where the view from the deck is truly breathtaking.and a boat will be docked in a covered slip. Two open-top kayaks for fun. A dining table that seats ten; a kitchen the best cooks will find well-equipped. The pool table right inside the house. The owner nearby to respond promptly to your needs.

“Vacation Retreat with a Breathtaking View This was not my first time in Lake George, But this was my first time renting a house rather than a hotel lodge. This was the best decision I made. Melissa, the owner was very sweet and professional from the moment the house was booked. Her Communication and personality made my experience even better. Thank you. The house is very special. It has a warm and welcoming feel from the start. 5 rooms, 4 bathrooms , great open concept first floor. We had a lot of room to be with the family or stay our distance. The backyard is my favorite point of the house. It has the best breathtaking view of pilot knob. The wooden Dock has two floors. Top floor has wooden chairs and lounges to sit and enjoy the views with friends and family. The bottom deck provided access to kayaks and a tube to go into the lake.s hard to grasp my description in words. You have to go and experience this to see and feel how amazing this is. Overall this Lake house is Great place to be with nature. Relax indoor / outdoors. Travel around the town. Stay indoors and read a book, watch movies , cook and eat. Its meant for anyone and everyone. The House was clean and has characters. There are hand written notes throughout house to inform us on what switches turns in what, direction on how to operate certain item :) this just shows that Melissa knows her house very well and can help you anytime. this was truly a great experience to my family and me. I would suggest this Lake House Rental to everyone!!!! loved it!!!”

“We had the best time at the lake house in Diamond Point! The house is set up with 5 bedrooms and 4 baths. Ideal for our group. We had 9 adults and 2 dogs for a weekend of ice fishing for my boyfriends 40th birthday. We were all very comfortable, and spread out. The house was very clean and we enjoyed the woodsy feel to it. Kitchen looks small, but I was easily able to cook all meals all weekend, and with the help of the kitchen tools provided. Melissa is a wonderful host! She met us at check-in and showed us around and made sure we were 100% accommodated. Check-out made simple, too. Honestly, we were bummed leaving! Thank you, Melissa. 5 star stay!”

“Lake George in the winter We really enjoyed our weekend at the Lake House on Lake George. The owner met us and walked us through the property. It was exactly as described - very roomy and it was nice that we all had our own bathrooms. It was below zero the whole weekend and we were toasty warm. Beautiful access to the lake with a private deck and dock which makes us want to come back in the warmer months. Great for a family or a group of friends. ”

“The cabin is cozy and has ample living space for 10 people for the week. I liked the way each section of our group was able to have their own space and bathroom. There is room for improvement on the property. The boathouse is not currently suitable to dock two boats. The "antique" has well apporoched old and is in disrepair. The boats dock in the direction aligned with the shoreline. When we arrive there wasn't bumpers of any sort on the outer boat's docking area. The outer boat was being pummeled by waves. We had to remove our boat's bumpers and tie them to the outer dock as well as aquire more bumpers so our friend's rental boat would not take a beating. We left our boat bumpers there for the next guest. The railing on the top of the boat house are in need of repair. Also, the lights in the boathouse do not work. All the light sockets are taped over. The walk to the boathouse is a workout up a steep hill mixed with steps, pavers, and natural rock. This should be noted for anyone who has any issues with mobility issues. There should be a great view of the lake from the screened porch and master bedroom but sadly the upkeep of landscaping has been lacking. The lake is not visible from the cabin. There is no real grass yard area. There was issues with parking due to construction taking place when we arrived. We had to park vehicles and the boat trailer across the highway due to excavators parked in the cabin's driveway. The property apparently had just got a new sewage system and was still working out its quirks. It seemed to get overwhelmed with 10 people and dish doing. The system would occasionally emit a sewer gas smell. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The cabin was cozy and room size is ample for 10 people. The kids enjoyed swimming off the dock and using the kayaks and row boat. ”
Owner's Response
“Dear Sue: It was indeed regrettable that it was your alert that the work done on the dock earlier by reliable workers turned out to be inadequate and it was on your check-out day that the major, very successful repair was done, so that only the following guests reaped the benefits of your heads-up! I was grateful that Snug Harbor, where you rented the boat, provided extra bumpers and other assistance so that your boat was safe tied up there. As for the septic odor, you'll have to agree it was only brief. It actually did not a result from any malfunction but was a harmless and normal settling of the new system, a fact that your husband said he and a friend knew about.. As for no grassy lawn, I learned long ago that grass needs fertilizer and lots of sun to grow well. Fertilizer is very damaging to the lake (grows algae) and trees would have to be removed for sun. We are also being encouraged to allow other kinds of plants besides grass grow on your property for the benefit of the birds and other wildlife. Because the trees go a long way in keeping the lake clean by preventing erosion and are a large part of the Adirondack landscape that so special and that I want to preserve, it seemed better to cultivate the trees not remove them. A glorious view of the lake to enjoy is had at the waterfront, you will agree! . And the final stage of the septic project had been planned for many earlier date, but the contractors (who don't work on Saturday) ran into unavoidable delays, so for the very last days I needed to ask you to park one truck and the boat trailer across the road briefly to allow some concrete to cure. That was to install a reliable stormwater management system, vital to keeping the ground stable and the lake clean. As for the difficulty any elderly or disabled people would have walking up the hill, there is an easy solution. My next door neighbors whose house in on the same level as my boat house invite people who can't manage the steps to walk across their flat lawn to and from my waterfront. Thank you again for your rental and for your patience with the inconvenience during the completion of this very large and beneficial project.”

“Very gracious and communicative host. Melissa was helpful and informative throughout our entire experience. From initial booking to post checkout, she provided thorough, relevant, and helpful information about the property and surrounding areas. The house comfortably accommodated our party of eight with an infant and small dog. The kitchen is small, but it was adequately equipped with enough items to easily prepare all of our meals during our stay, to include Thanksgiving dinner and breakfast every morning. The driveway is narrow, but was able to accommodate our three full size trucks. The walk from the parking spots to the house is slightly downhill, muddy, and slippery, which could pose a challenge for someone with mobility issues. Be careful and watch your step and you should be fine. It's an older home with a rustic feel and located slightly off the lake front (a short walk from the house to the dock), but the nightly rate is extremely fair for the location and the property. The dock is large and overlooks the lake. It can accommodate several people fishing or relaxing in the sun. Short drive (12 minutes) to a decent trail walk up to "The Pinnacle" which is an easy/moderate 1.5 mile hike with a great view of the lake from the top. We were there over Thanksgiving so the town was fairly deserted, but there were several businesses and locations which appeared to be a great time during the summer months. The home provided an excellent opportunity for our family to all be together and spend quality time for Thanksgiving.”
Owner's Response
“Thank you, Richard for you kind and accurate review. I think this will give others a good idea as to the experience there. I do, though, have to explain the muddy and slippery walk down to the house! Though wintery weather can be challenging where it comes to making driveways and walkways safe for driving and walking, normally it is manageable. This fall, though, a huge project to replace and enlarge the septic system was underway. It was supposed to be completed long before these guests arrived, but delays happened. Not only did we have very early snow this fall, but lots of rain. All the bad weather together with the loss of ground cover and graveled surfaces while the digging was done left quite a muddy situation, as you can imagine. And I had to be out of town for surgery, and not on site to be helpful. I was lucky to have these patient and tolerant guests. And I am pleased to have so modern and reliablean on-site wastewater treatment system at the property now.”

“Eight of us (4 couples) stayed here in the fall for the second year in a row and thoroughly enjoyed it! We cooked at least one meal a day and the kitchen was more than adequate (everything worked!) and having a dining table big enough to seat everyone was a plus! Also, the grill outside was in great shape and had plenty of propane. We used the deck over the boat house for star gazing on clear nights - the Milky Way was clearly visible and we even saw the International Space Station early one morning. All in all, we had a wonderful, relaxing time at the lake house - it was in fine shape and the owner was great. We would love to stay here again.”

“The Lake House is a natural and beautiful complement to Lake George, a clean, rare treasure in the Adirondack Park. We, our children and our grandchildren have grown up on Lake George for over 40 years and we know the area well. We've chosen to return to the Lake House in July, 2019. Here's why... Seven adults, one child and two dogs enjoyed this true Adirondack home. There was plenty of space for us to enjoy the well kept, comfortable rooms and stunning, private, natural surroundings. The home itself was immaculate and organized, yet it was easy to live in. Melissa Vito, the owner, made herself available to answer our questions and remained "on call" if we needed her help. With restaurants and all sorts of attractions nearby, it was easy to negotiate everyone's interests and levels of activity. ...and the Lake House was always a treat to return to. I would have no problem recommending Melissa's home on Lake George to anyone who is looking for a pleasurable, Adirondack experience.”
Owner's Response
“Thank you so much, friends, for taking the time and making the effort to write Lake House so glowing a review. I am humbled by all your compliments. It is lovely, though, to know how much you appreciate the beautiful lake and scenery and that my place is comfortable and serves your needs. So looking forward to having you back.”

“Dale & Bob C. Look for the small sign that says The Lake House and follow the gravel road down to a beautifully wooded property .Tucked into the trees is a lovely home with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. “Our family of ten has stayed at this property from 1 to 2 weeks each summer over the last 7 years. The owner has been very helpful in arranging for our visits and has been a pleasure to work with. The boat house accommodates and protects our 24 foot boat. The dock is great for swimming and there is also a walk in approach to the water for some of our swimmers. We generally cook our evening meals at the house and the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment. It has a nice big dining table so everyone can sit around it. The location is great with easy access to Bolton Landing and Lake George Village by boat or car. We grew up on the Lake and enjoy the nostalgic Adirondack rustic feel to this house. All in all, this rental has worked very well for our family.”

“ Where to begin Everything about your home, location, set up, and willingness to do everything possible to make our stay enjoyable was great! (Even when the power went out for 20 hours. What a storm.) We [four families] all enjoyed our time together from ages 2 months to 83. Our 4-year-old says, I really liked it here. It is a great house to play hide and seek in. Each detail that you attended to was so helpful - linens, kitchen supplies, etc. We really hope to return again!!”
