Charming and unique historic Adirondack cottage is located in a waterfront wooded setting, but is a short five minute walk to the center of Bolton Landing. It is 100 yards from the bridge to the historic Sagamore Hotel. The cottage was constructed on Mohican Island in the Narrows and moved to its present site in 1914. It is well maintained with updated plumbing and electric, but looks and feels very much as it did when purchased by the owner's family in 1955. The wonderful wrap around porch overlooks the lake and provides a relaxing place to enjoy the view. The large floor to ceiling windows, some with original glass, make for a bright interior. The surrounding tall white pine trees keep the cottage cool. Antique oak furnishings dot most of the rooms in the cottage. Recent improvements include a large deck with a picnic table and grill just outside of the kitchen door and new landscaping designed to help protect Lake George water quality.

There are three bedrooms on the second floor, two with double beds and one with twins, and a full bath with a clawfoot tub. The living room also has a futon that can sleep two.

The first floor has narrow plank natural oak floors in the large living room and the dining room. The kitchen is ample with an electric stove, refrigerator, and all basic utensils and small appliances. A rear room behind the kitchen contains a single child's bed and recently renovated full bathroom with a shower.

The house is 100 feet from the Lake shore with the front porch facing the Lake. Two car parking spaces and one dock space that will accommodate up to a 25' boat are included. Another dock is also available for sunning and swimming (ladder at end of dock ~ 5' depth).

Pet Policy: Well behaved dogs are permitted with a $175/ week surcharge. Dogs may NEVER be permitted to run free. They must be leashed or tethered at all times. Pet waste must be picked up immediately.
Smoking Policy: Smoking is strictly prohibited in the cottage and on the entire property.
Cleaning Policy: Cleaning service is included and provided before each rental.
-REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO DEPARTURE INCLUDE: emptying trash cans, washing dishes, CLEANING THE GRILL, policing the grounds for any trash, returning furniture and amenities to original location, and otherwise leaving the cottage and grounds tidy, organized, and ready for the cleaning service to get to work. During the week, trash must be placed into containers provided the night before the posted pickup day.
Linen Policy: Ample pillows and blankets are available, but linens and towels are NOT provided.
Security Deposit Information: Security deposits of $700 is required to be returned no later than two weeks after last day and after inspection by the owner or his agents, subject to any deductions spelled out in the lease including any damages, violation of pet, smoking, or other rules, or if the condition requires extraordinary cleaning time in excess of 2 hours. Detailed rules are included in the lease.

Meet the Owner(s)

About Us: The owner is a retired planner (and grandfather of 4 girls) who started his Lake George "career" in 1944 as a 9 mo baby camping on Uncas Island with his family. Camping days ended in 1955 when his family purchased this cottage in Bolton Landing. His mother had been camping on the Lake George islands since the 1920's, the same years that Georgia O'Keefe also summered on the Lake. Lake George water runs deep in his blood.
