Welcome to "Little Naumkeag" the camp that has been in our family since 1927. Built by famed local craftsman Everet Lewis the interior is all finished in warm Southern Pine. Period doors and windows add to the charm. Furnishings are mostly Mission style appropriate. Books, antiques and art add to the sense of walking back in time so if modern and spare is your desire, then we may not be for you.

Little Naumkeag features a large updated kitchen that can accommodate cooks (maybe at times too … many!). Other camp amenities include high speed Wi-Fi, large firestick TV, and DVD player. The house boasts 6 bedrooms; 4 up and two down. The lower master has an on-suite bathroom. Downstairs also features a TV room with many DVDs, VHS videos, games and puzzles. Newly added is a detached game room with a pool/ping pong table and darts.

Little Naumkeag overlooks the north end of 4th lake of the Fulton Chain of Lakes. Our ample lawn, (with a view of the lake) has badminton, Adirondack chairs, and a cozy front porch for when it rains. Approximately 40 steps lead down to our private large and with 100 feet of lake frontage. The steps are rustic and may be difficult to navigate for elderly guests. Once at the lake our 12x20 foot dock has multiple Adirondack chairs and a picnic table. Our oar house has life preservers, fishing rods and tackle, snorkel and swimming equipment and tubes.

Included in the rental are 2 kayaks and 2 canoes. We also have a 19 ft pontoon boat for rent at $1500/wk. Use of the boats requires signing a hold harmless agreement. Use of the pontoon boat requires an additional deposit and boating experience that is satisfactory to the owners.

Rates

Summer rate is $4300 a week. The summer season is from 6/29-8/31. For the summer season rentals are for seven days; Sunday to Sunday. Check in time is 4pm, check out 10am unless other arrangements are made with the owners.

Rentals before or after the summer season are at a 10% discount. As the camp is not winterized no bookings are allowed before June 15h and after approximatey October 15th.

Rental terms: 50% 120 days before the rental, balance of 50% 45 days prior to the rental. Cancellations; those made 90 days before result in 100% return of deposit. Cancellations made 60 days prior to rental result in 50% of fee return. If we are able to re-rent the week held we will return any balance to renter, or portion thereof if a reduction is required.

Pet Policy: Dogs are allowed for a pet fee of $200. Additional pet fee to be discussed with owners. A $200 pet damage fee is required.
Smoking Policy: No smoking within the house or on front porch.
Cleaning Policy: A cleaning fee is included in the rental. We expect that upon your departure the camp will be laft "broom clean". Guests are required to take their garbage/recycling to the Inlet dump approximately 2 miles from the camp. Garbage left upon departure will result in $150 being deducted from security deposit.
Linen Policy: Guests are encouraged to bring their own sheet/towels. For $150 linens will be provided. Beds will not be made up as we don't know sleeping arrangements.
Security Deposit Information: A $500 deposit is required to secure desired week. Upon arrival the deposit will convert to a damage deposit. Upon departure, assuming no damage or theft of contents, the deposit will be returned within 10 days.

Meet the Owner(s)

About Us: We are now the 5th generation of owners of the camp which was built for our family. It has always been home and a place of reunion.. And as many of our guests come back year over year (some even naming their rooms!) we know that our history is being shared by others. Our ancestory has mostly academics on one side and people with some noteriety in the motion picture industry on the other.

Why we think you will enjoy staying in Inlet: We find Little Naumkeag is perfectly situated on 4th lake. It can be reached easly from the town boat launch. It's an easy paddle into town, and 5th lake from our dock. Inlet itself has hardly changed in 70 years. The public beach has sun all day, tennis and a ball field. Nearby Old Forge boasts the ever popular Water Safari park. Going north is Racquette Lake and the great Sagamore camp (open to the public). 22 miles away in Blue Mountain lake is the world renowned Adirondack Museum

Why our property is special: We feel the historic nature of the camp has its special charm. And (with the exception of some modern upgrades) it is a time capsule of a slower and perhaps more thoughtful way of life. Practically, being on two levels and at over 3200 square feet it can handle several families well. When the weather's great there's the front lawn, our large dock, boats and the water to enjoy. In rain there is the front porch, books galore, puzzles, the game room and TV room.
