“Great location, proximity to village of Old Forge and perfect for viewing 4th of July fireworks! House was comfortable for 6 -8 of us. Great big porch, dog friendly which was awesome, hot tub and other amenities were a plus! Hosts were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Bit of an obstructed view of the Old Forge pond but overall a great stay! Shower in spare bathroom could use a little more pressure but served it's main purpose.”

“Where to start?! This vacation rental has it all!
Brian and Sara were excellent hosts who were exceptionally responsive, informative and helpful, making the whole experience stress-free.
The property is a real treat and included every amenity we needed to experience Old Forge in all its glory.
Here are a few of our favorites:
The oversized deck that wraps around the house is outfitted in plenty of cozy furniture. It was equipped with an updated grill, perfect for elk steaks and admiring the sunset over Old Forge Pond. It even offered a retractable awning that kept us dry when it rained.
As you walk down the porch steps, you're greeted by a partially fenced in hot tub that rests under a nest of edison light bulbs. You may as well be in your own private oasis. We would bring a portable speaker down for some tunes, turn the heat up to 104 and let the jets rip away any worry from the outside world.
This was our first time in Old Forge, so location was very important to us. We prioritized something central but close to everything on our checklist. Brian and Sara's place did not disappoint.. We were within walking distance to Pied Piper Ice Cream, Water Safari (which was closed because of the season, but plan to come back next year) and Downtown. We were no more than ~10min away from Bald mountain (can't recommend enough- incredible hike), farmer's market, restaurants and movie theater (not your typical theater...Includes camera museum and rich history spanning over 100yrs).
Nestled beyond a short walk down the driveway, we found a private beach where we would kayak, swim and sunbathe. One early, foggy morning, we brought our breakfast down and specated a canoe race on the lake. Watching smoke dance over the still pond with the only sound coming from ores splashing into the water was pure magic.
If we were home (and not enjoying the fresh air on the deck), we were taking advantage of the chef's kitchen that included all of the cookware required to make anything we could imagine. The cozy beds and central AC made sure we got a good night's rest. Lastly, the welcome basket (including locally sourced Tug Hill coffee and caramel corn) and board games were a nice touch and very much appreciated.
I would highly recommend Happy Trails Cabin to anyone looking to visit Old Forge. ”

“This cabin has everything a family needs for comfort and fun! The cabin's location was the perfect mix of both quiet solitude and fun tourist attractions. We enjoyed the shops, wineries, restaurants, and water park during the day but loved coming back to the cabin for a quiet night in the hot tub or round the fire to end our busy days. You can tell that the owners love the area and want others to enjoy Old Forge as much as they do! The owners made sure we were fully informed of local attractions, cabin amenities, and check-in/out procedures. The owners made it easy to book, stay, and enjoy their newly acquired and beautifully renovated cabin. I truly appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, linen package, and private shared beach with kayaks! I would definitely rent this cabin again in the future!”

“Great experience! The owners have done a wonderful job making this place comfortable. They were very easy to deal with and were available for anything we needed. They left us a welcome basket that even included treats for the dogs. The cottage is in a great location. It is close to town and the water. We really enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend.”

“Our stay in Old Forge at Happy Trails cabin was great!! The cabin is centrally located which makes it very convenient to walk to Water Safari and in the town. The private beach access was great for the kids and if you get a chance to watch fireworks over Old Forge lake, the private beach is THE BEST SPOT! We had access to kayaks and bicycles which the kids enjoyed so much. The hot tub was great to have after a long day at the water park. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed! The owners are very attentive and keep communication open which was very nice. We were their first rental, but we wont be the last. :) ”
