Our lodge in Inlet, NY is a beautiful Adirondack sided camp situated on a bay between Sixth and Seventh Lakes. The two-story lodge has four bedrooms with roomy closets. One bedroom with a queen-sized log bed is downstairs next to a full bath. The master bedroom is upstairs overlooking the water and also has a queen log bed. The other two bedrooms have two twin beds in each. All beds have quilts or spreads, and all rooms have wood floors with carpets. There is also a full bath upstairs with a w …asher and dryer. We limit guests to 8 total, including children. There is parking for four cars.
The living room also looks out on to the dock area and water. Decorated in Adirondack style, it has a log gas stove, giving a beautiful ambiance to the rooms. There is also a TV with cable, VCR/DVD, bookcases with books, puzzles, and games, and comfortable seating. We also have high speed internet and wireless throughout the lodge and outside. You can read your morning news on your tablet on the dock.
The large dining room table is also situated so you can see the dock and waterfront, and you can view the "Vermont Casting "gas log stove from there also. The Vermont Castings stove provides a nice evening ambiance and heat for those cooler evenings.
Our kitchen is fully equipped even with most small appliances (coffee maker, can opener, microwave, crock pot, etc.) There is plenty of cupboard space stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and other kitchen essentials.
A large screened-in front porch is one of the favorite places of our guests. It has another table and chair set for eating out there, and chairs for just relaxing. The deck off the dining room has a gas grill. We always stock an extra propance tank, so you can be sure you'll have fuel for your cooking. There is also a charcoal grill off the deck for those who prefer the real taste of charcoal.
Our location is ideal for families. Boat traffic is minimal, so you can explore the lake without constant concern. In addition, our location is sheltered from the wind, yet allows a very scenic view over a large stretch of water. Battleship rock is just across the lake and has been the subject of vintage postcards. Just around the corner is the bridge on Seventh Lake Rd. Kids love boating under the bridge. Swimming is very good right off the dock and a ladder is located in shallow water along a sandy bottom, suitable for little folks.
We offer three kayaks for rent during your stay. All are 12ft long kayaks. Two are Pungo 120's and the other is a Field and Stream angling kayak.
If you have ever tried to enter or exit a kayak from a dock, you know it can be challenging. This is why we installed a kaya-arm to help you get in and our of your kayak. If you can get up from a seated position, you can kayak from our dock!!
We have customized the instructions for the kaya-arm. Please watch the following videos to see how to use the kayak arm from our dock.

We will be renting a new pontoon boat in 2018. In October, we purchased a completely refurbished 20ft pontoon boat. The seats are actual pontoon seats purchased new in 2018. It has a 2018 40hp Suzuki 4-stroke motor, so you can get around the lake faster than with our old pontoon. The new pontoon rental rate is increasing to $800 for the week or $250 per day. This is still an extremely good deal compared to what the local marinas charge.
There is plenty of docking space available if you wish to bring your own boat. Because Sixth and Seventh Lakes are connected, the boating is beautiful. Much of Seventh Lake is state owned, so there is much natural wilderness to observe. At the end of Seventh Lake is a lovely sandy beach island that is only accessible by boat. There are two large beaches to choose from; most days you can have one to yourself. You can easily catch bass, perch, sunfish, bull head right from our dock. For little ones, they will have no trouble reeling in fish after fish. For the more ambitious angler, Sixth and Seventh lake offer excellent lake trout, landlocked salmon, and rainbow trout fishing. Spring and Fall are best times for trout, but they can be taken in deep water during the summer also.
We are less than two miles from the commercial corner in Inlet. There is a sidewalk on Rt. 28 that goes all the way from Inlet to Seventh Lake Rd (1.4 mi). Inlet golf course is only 1/2 mile away. Many attractions are in the surrounding area: several hiking trails, seaplane rides, Enchanted Forest/Water Safari, gift shops, restaurants, Adirondack Museum, Camp Sagamore, parks, playground, tennis courts, golf courts, and much more.
Our location is correctly shown in the link below, but if you search our address on google maps the location indicated is incorrect. The road labeled Island Rd. is actually Island Ave. We are the second house on the right as you drive down Island Ave. Our view is towards the undeveloped peninsula of land to the northeast.
In case you are curious, "Mi-Wok" is the name of the indigenous people of Yosemite Valley and Northern California Coast. Two of our favorite places outside of the Adirondacks.

About Us: My wife and I started renting cabins in the Old Forge area soon after our son, Liam, was born. We wanted him to experience the same things we did when we were kids. After renting for a couple of years, we decided to buy a place so could share the experience with more of our extended family, and build more memories. I'm happy to say that my son, now 10, loves the Adirondacks and has said Camp Miwok is his favorite place on Earth.
Why we think you will enjoy staying in Inlet: Inlet is only 2 miles from our camp. It has the best ice cream in the region (Northern Lights....sorry Pied Piper). It has the best Sunsets (from the dock at the Woods Inn or Arrowhead Park); the sun sets over Fourth Lake and is often stunning. The best chicken wings on the planet (Screamen Eagle). It also has some of the best shops in the area. The Moose River plains are accessed from Limekiln Rd, which is about one mile from our camp.

“We stayed at Chris's camp from June 12th to the 19th and enjoyed every day! It was such peaceful location. We took advantage of renting the Pontoon boat and that turned out to be such fun, we would just motor around between the different lakes taking in the sites and amazing scenery. There is so much to do in the area between Payne's Air Service for a birds eye view of the surrounding lakes (very reasonable) to the wonderful Raquette Lake tour aboard the W.W. Durant. Highly recommended from all of us. The camp itself is just a short distance from Inlet and the stores that carry such beautiful local crafts. The camp sits between 6th and 7th lake so you will not get the boat traffic as you would if you were on one lake or the other, yet within a few minutes you can can be on either lake. The Tap Room over in Raquette lake is a small local bar that serves great food another must. We will most definitely be returning and will hope to stay at Chris's again. Chris is a great host, quick to get back to us and very helpful with local information. ”

“We are so happy to hear how much you enjoyed your stay. We have never tried the Tap Room, but will make a point of it this year!”

“We recently spent a wonderful week at Camp Mi-Wok, and are already hoping to plan a return trip. The house itself is beautiful and immaculately maintained. We loved the pine interiors and the "Adirondack feel" throughout the house. The common space is well appointed and comfortable, with lots of places to curl up with a book, and plenty of room at the table for family meals, or board games. The bedrooms were beautiful and spacious, and we loved having two full bathrooms. The master bedroom with it's vaulted ceiling and view of the lake was especially beautiful, and we could hear the loons calling every night. The side porch was a great spot to hang out during a rain shower, or to have a cup of coffee in the morning. But the true magic of Camp Mi-Wok is the outdoor space. The house sits on a beautiful cove that is always calm and has very little boat traffic, making it the perfect place for kids to swim, kayak, or paddle around on tubes. The dock is beautiful and has plenty of room for adults to sit and relax while kids jump off into the water, or fish. Our kids spent HOURS every day dropping their lines into the water and pulling up sunfish, perch, and even bass right off the end of the dock. The fact that kayaks can also be rented with the house was a huge game-changer for us, as we don't have our own. We enjoyed many wonderful exploratory adventures as a family (6th and 7th lake are beautiful!!), but what we loved the most was the ability to allow our 13 and 11-year-old to hone their own skills and explore within the safety of the cove while my husband and I watched from the dock with a cup of coffee or a cocktail. They spent hours paddling around and catching frogs in the shallows without ever leaving our sight. The kids were typically on, or in the water until it got dark, and then we would light a fire in the fire pit so we could make some s'mores and try to wring the last drops of summer out of the day! We also loved how close the house was to town- just a mile and a half away meant quick and easy trips in for bait, breakfast treats from the bakery, or after dinner ice cream at Northern Lights. Also close to many family-friendly hiking trails that were easily manageable for everyone, including our 8-year-old. The owner of Camp Mi-Wok was accommodating, easy to work with, and very communicative throughout the rental process- there was nothing about our experience that wasn't overwhelmingly positive. We loved every minute of our vacation and would return to this magical place in a heartbeat!! ”

“This place is a hidden gem! We had such an amazing vacation and felt 100% comfortable traveling and staying here during COVID-19. This camp is private and has everything you need for your stay. Four good size bedrooms fit our entire group of 7 and had plenty of space to spread out between the family room, kitchen and screened-in The dock and swimming area were loved by all of us on a daily basis a few times a day! Bring some cheap tubes and float around or rent the owners kayaks and pontoon for your own adventure. The little bay this house sits in is perfect. You don't get constant boat traffic and it's quiet and serene. Very close to the center of Inlet, many hiking trails, and the best donut shop you'll find in NY. 15 mins to Old Forge so you feel far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to go and enjoy it. We hope to be back again next summer!”

“My friends and I just returned from a wonderful week long stay at Camp Mi Wok. The weather was perfect most of the week, so most of our days were either spent sitting outside in the shade reading, or floating around in the water right there. The amenities of the place are fantastic from what we're used to, so everything about the place is very convenient. We really loved our time there and hope to return again!”

“Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Camp Miwok in late June! Beautiful, spacious camp with lovely furnishings and gorgeous setting. Sixth lake location is quiet and serene; no traffic noise. We enjoyed a daily visit from a loon and several mallards. Easy paddle under the bridge to scenic 7th lake for longer paddles. Appreciated on-site availability of canoe and kayaks. All appliances in good condition; well pump provides low water pressure for showers, but manageable. We had the full range of ADK weather-- living room heater with thermostat provided cozy warmth on a couple chilly, rainy days until warm, sunny days returned. Owner communicated regularly prior to our visit to share information and responded in a timely manner to questions. Hope to visit again!”

“We just finished a relaxing week at Camp Miwok. The camp itself is as described in other reviews - comfortable, cozy and in a lovely setting. We are two sixty-something couples who are long-time friends. We were looking for a week of peace and relaxation and we found both here. I think it was the little things I enjoyed most - rain drops on the lake on our one rainy morning, a mother duck and babies swimming in the lake and watching the stars through the master bedroom skylight. The owner was a delight to work with. We had a minor plumbing problem that was taken care of in short order. I will be recommending this camp to people I know.”

“Wonderful stay at Camp MiWok for 4 nights with my sisters and cousins. It was Ladies-only getaway extended weekend during the peak of the fall foliage in the Adirondacks. I highly recommend this cabin for groups/families. The parking in front of the cabin was a little tight for 3 SUVs and a large pick-up truck, but once we figured that out it was smooth sailing the rest of the weekend. With 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, there was plenty of space for the five of us, with beds to spare. We enjoyed all the space and amenities of this home at a fraction of the cost of staying in a hotel or bed and breakfast. The cabin was clean and cozy with knotty-pine walls and ceilings, rustic, casual cabin-themed decor (lots of bears--very cute stuff) and comfortable beds and furniture. We cooked all meals in the well-appointed kitchen or on the propane grill on the deck--it was nice to not have to 'dress' for meals--- it was breakfast in our pj's and dinner in our sweatpants. Life is good! We watched the stunning sunrises over Sixth Lake 20 feet from our dining room window, with the sun reflecting the bright reds and yellows and oranges of the foliage onto the serene water. Each evening after dinner we had a fire in the fire pit outside, star-gazing and laughing, relaxing in our Adirondack chairs. Camp MiWok was located just outside the town of Inlet with its quaint shops and grocery store, and close to great hiking trails. We did choose to buy bottled water for drinking and cooking, as the cabin has well-water that did have a metallic taste. We hiked to the summit of Black Bear Mountain and around Cascade Lake and Moss Lake. We also enjoyed kayaking on 6th and 7th Lakes, with the put-in right off our dock in front of the cabin. We discovered a campsite with a lovely lean-to on the north shore of Seventh Lake, so we docked the kayaks on the shore for a few hours, made a fire, enjoyed our packed lunches and read our books in the sunshine. Great day! ”
Owner's Response
“Glad you had a great time. You made me "camp-sick" reading your review! That lean-to is such an awesome spot. You can actually walk there from the camp, there is a state trail from the end of Seventh Lake Rd.”

“We recently stayed at Camp Mi-Wok and can't say enough about what a great property this is. Very Adirondack in style and decor. Everything was clean and in order. The owner was very timely in responding to all emails when reserving and providing information and instructions about how everything works. We definitely plan on returning.”

“My family and I have been renting different cabins at lakes around the Adirondacks for more than a decade and Camp Mi-Wok is one of our favorites. The cabin is beautifully decorated in Adirondack camp style and designed for comfort. It has a television but I don't think we turned it on for more than a few minutes because there was so much to do with kayaking, hiking, swimming, boating on the pontoon boat we rented from the owner and having campfires at night. The quaint town of Inlet is only a couple of miles from the cabin and there are bike paths and sidewalks all the way which makes it safe for pedestrians and cyclists. The cabin is only about 12 miles from Old Forge, which has a great old movie theater with first-run movies, Calypso Cove with go-carts and other fun activities, a water park and interesting shops. There's a beautiful view of the lake and mountains from the Camp Mi-Wok dock and we spent many happy hours there drinking our coffee in the morning and having a glass of wine in the evening. The owner was quick to answer any questions that we had or in responding to requests. We hope to rent Camp Mi-Wok again in the future. ”

“Camp Mi-wok is a great place. Nicely equipped, nice quiet tucked away location, yet close to Inlet if you need any supplies. 6th and 7th lakes have far less traffic than 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th lakes. They are also much calmer making them perfect for canoes, kayaks and smaller boats. If you rent the boats you will find the pontoon easy to operate and the kayaks are a ton of fun. I will say the gas grill could use an upgrade but you can always use the charcoal grill. Having a screened in porch is very nice on the nights when the bugs get annoying. The fire pit is very nice and large enough for everyone to get a "smore spot". The place is set up so that after the kids go to bed the adults can still talk and carry on without waking up the kids. Fishing off the dock will keep the kids happy as the pan fish are plentiful. If you take the boat out into the cove near the camp you can catch more pan fish and large mouth bass. We fished this spot each day and everyone caught lots of fish. We had a really nice time and would stay here again. ”

“Very happy you had a great time! Thanks for the note on the gas grill. I was able to check it out myself this week and it definitely needed to go. Our new gas grill was assembled today with a stainless steel top, bigger cooking space and side burner!”

“My husband our two sons and three of their friends, all teenagers spent Memorial Day weekend at Camp Mi-Wok. We had a wonderful time the house is very cozy and provided everything needed for our stay. We were able to walk into Inlet do some shopping. We brought our three kayaks and rented the owners two so the boys spent a lot of time kayaking. We heard and saw the loons. Just a wonderful stay.”

“Three generations of our family spent a wonderful, relaxing week here. The cabin had everything we could need and plenty of space for the 6 of us. The view of the water from the master bedroom is a beautiful picture of the Adirondacks. The camp is on a "cove" off of the channel between two of the lakes, so you have a quiet, calm area to kayak (perfect for the kids) and quick access to two of the lakes of the Fulton chain. We spent more than one afternoon at the beach on the island in the middle of the lake which has a beach on the lake, but also shallow pools where kids can spend hours playing. Camp is also an easy drive to the center of the town of Inlet where you'll find everything you might need, from groceries and fishing gear to momentos of your trip. Old Forge and its amenities (including Enchanted Forest/Water Safari amusement and water park) are also only a short drive away. ”

“What a beautiful place! My family (a total of 8 of us) stayed here for 4 nights at the end of October. Although it was chilly outside, the house was cozy and warm. My favorite moment was waking up in the master bedroom to the first snow of the season falling gently on the lake. Everyone was happy with their bedrooms and the 2 large bathrooms. The kitchen is spacious and has all of the pots and pans to make just about anything. The house is nicely situated on a lake and is close to many different trails and the town of Inlet. The wi-fi was also a great perk in case you didnt want to be completely left out in the wilderness! My family loved everything about Camp Mi-Wok and we all hope to come back and enjoy it in the warm weather!”

“Our family had a very memorable stay at Camp Mi-Wok. The location of the camp on a quiet cove (we even were visited by loons!) was perfect. Also, when we kiyaked, we had the convenient option of either taking a quick left turn out of the cove and be on Sixth Lake or a quick right turn under the nearby bridge and have the Seventh Lake waters to enjoy. The home itself is well appointed and the interior decor rustic and very attractive. We fell in love with Upstate New York and hope to pay a return visit to Camp Mi-Wok again soon. ”

“We were very happy with our decision to rent Camp Miwok! The owner was very pleasant and easy to work with from start to finish. Provided many details about the rental and answered all our questions. Responded promptly to all my email inquiries. The property itself was great! The house is fairly new and in great condition! Was clean upon our arrival, rooms were big and house had pretty much everything we needed for our stay. We rented the pontoon boat and used it everyday! Kids loved it! We also used he canoe, which everyone enjoyed. We swam everyday right from the dock. You can also take the pontoon boat to a nearby sandy beach on 7th lake and swim. We visited there a few times. We also fished from the dock. The property manager was in close proximity, so if we had any questions, someone was right there to assist. The lake and Inlet area was very quiet, which was nice and relaxing! Not loud and crowded as some vacation areas can be. Overall, great property! Everyone enjoyed! Looking forward to renting again next year!”

“calling this a "camp" seems an injustice. This is a lovely waterfront home with all the comforts and convenience one can imagine. All rooms are beautifully furnished. We enjoyed the use of the canoe and fishing from the dock for some spunky smallfry. The proximity to Inlet and the Arrowhead Park playground is a plus for little ones. Wonderful rental home, hope to return.”

“Great place, great time. Quiet cove with clear, clean water. Can dive right off the end of the dock or use the ladder into the shallow water by the break wall. Very easy access off of Rte 28, only about 2 miles to village of Inlet. Beautiful house, the photos don't do enough justice, and the bedrooms are spacious, especially the master. Very easy to deal with the owner and the property manager. And a very friendly resident chipmunk (not shy at all) and a couple ducks always milling around the dock. Overall we had a wonderful time and very much enjoyed the house. ”
