Completely secluded riverfront cabin with incredible panoramic mountain and river views. This rustic cabin is situated on 8 acres of wooded property with full privacy and with 800 feet of Sacandaga River water frontage. For those who love peace and quiet it is a perfect paradise. Walk along the river fishing or fly fishing, and enjoy bird watching or hiking on nearby trails. Imagine tubing several miles down the river to the Great Sacandaga Lake right from your doorstep! Listen to the river ri …ght outside the cabin or use the river as a Jacuzzi! You can also just relax and enjoy the view from wherever you are in this vast private peace of Adirondack Park. At approximately 350 feet to the left of the house, there is a swimming and rest area. The water in the river is usually very warm because it runs from the mountains through Algonquin Lake where it warms up.
The camp is secluded without being inconveniently remote. There are several lakes around within a short distance. Travel 9 miles south to the Northville boat ramp and beach on the Great Sacandaga Lake (the lake is 34 miles long). Or travel four miles north to the town of Wells where you will find a public beach on Algonquin Lake. If you go a few more miles north you will arrive at Pleasant Lake beach and Moffit campground beach and the boat ramp. Ride the Gondola at Gore Mountain which is only 28 miles away. It is about 30 - 50 minutes to Saratoga Springs and Lake George and about three hours to Canada.
This fully furnished camp features a kitchen with all the new modern appliances including a range, microwave, full-size refrigerator, and an electric tea/coffee maker as well as a newly remodeled full bath with a tub and shower. The living area has rocking chairs, a sleeper, a full-size futon, and a dining table. We offer an HD TV connected to ROKU TV and media player as well as DSL high-speed internet and a CD/DVD player with a collection of movies. The main lodge has an enclosed veranda overlooking the river and mountains with a table and chairs for summer/fall dining.
The camp offers two bedrooms downstairs with a double bed in each and one large bedroom upstairs with three double beds (sleeps six to eight). For an additional price we can also offer a Kid's Condo next to the main camp with two bunk beds; sleeps four (kids will love it!). There is no kitchen or bathroom in the Kid's Condo. Please contact the owner and inquire about the package price if you are a big party.
There is an outdoor fireplace with benches. Enjoy toasting your marshmallows or grilling kebabs. The picnic table, as well as plenty of outdoor furniture, are also provided. Our family camp is a great place for your Adirondack experience and we are certain that you will have a wonderful time!

“Are you looking for a beautiful, secluded location that has private riverfront access with a well-appointed cozy cabin, well Tall Pines is all that and more! My family and I just got back from our 3rd stay and I am already looking forward to our next! Everyone enjoyed being in the water, sitting around the fire pit or looking at the river from the sunporch or Adirondack chairs. The view is just amazing, all you see is the river and the wooded slopes across the way. This year we spotted a pair of eagles that would sit on the rock/sand bar for extended periods before flying up or down river and a deer that would cross at dusk. Listening to the river at bedtime is truly a special treat!! The cabin is very spacious & clean, and the sunporch has the most amazing view of the river. It is the perfect spot for having coffee at dawn or watching the sun set. We were a group of 7 adults with 2 dogs this year and not once did we feel cramped or on top of one another as there is plenty of space and seating inside and out. There are two bedrooms downstairs and a loft that has 3 beds, one by itself and the other two behind the chimney and a cupboard for privacy. It also has a bookcase and a great selection of books in case you didn't bring your own. The kitchen has everything you need with a full-size refrigerator and oven along with cookware, dishes, and utensils. For meals there are 3 areas to choose from, there are two large tables, one on the sunporch and one inside if you prefer to be closer to the kitchen and a picnic table. The utility room off the back porch is perfect for storing coolers, shoes, or fishing gear. The bathroom is large for a cabin and has a full-sized tub/shower. Close by is Lake Pleasant and the Village of Speculator. There is an awesome grocery/hardware/souvenir shop all rolled into one called Charlie Johns. Anything you may need or have forgotten you can get there. Anna and Eugene are always available if needed. You cannot find two kinder people and I think it is incredible that they are willing to share the beauty of Tall Pines. I had searched for years to find a cabin like Tall Pines and now that I have, I will be back every year! ”

“Better than the photos! We had a great time at Tall Pines! It is located right on the bank of the Sacandaga River, so you hear the water peacefully flowing by. The waterfront is breathtaking and downstream there are steps into the river where you can freshen up during hot days. The property is very secluded and private, quite vast with plenty of places to walk around and take in nature. The closest neighbors are too far away to be heard or seen. The view is so beautiful that we never wanted to leave the property. Sitting in a chair in the morning with a cup of coffee was great. Making fire in the fire pit right by the river, sipping wine, playing games, or cooking dinner was wonderful. We loved the feel of this rustic Adirondack cabin - very clean, quaint, and cozy. The kitchen is fully stocked, and the house has everything you need for a great stay. There was a lot to do in the area as well. We loved the lakes and trails around and the little town of Northville. The owner responds to every question immediately and makes sure that the guests have everything they need to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay especially for the price offered! We will be staying again in the future!”

“My boyfriend and I stayed at Tall Pines several times during the summer of 2016. When we first arrived we did not want to leave because we really enjoyed the peace and natural beauty we found. The views of the river and mountains are truly stunning; what a gorgeous spot! It was wonderful to relax in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the river listening to the sound and watching the wildlife or to sit next to the fire pit in the evening and enjoy food and drinks. Our dog was in heaven, running around the property and on the river. The property is huge and secluded so you are in complete privacy. The front of the cabin faces the Sacandaga River, and the rest of the property is thick woods. There are no other properties nearby, just a house to the right about 300 feet away hidden behind the woods. We never saw anyone or heard any noise. We also immensely enjoyed the private rest area and a swimming hole in the river. The cabin is very clean; all our needs were met with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of dishes, pots and pans as well as food staples like salt & pepper and basic spices. The beds are a rustic iron type but the mattresses are comfortable and not saggy, which I like. There were lots of pillows, blankets and throws. I especially liked that there is an internet connection so when it rained one day we did not feel bored and were able to catch up with the rest of the world. This is by far the best place we at which we have stayed in the Adirondacks. We are convinced that we will be coming to the cabin for years to come. Thank you for sharing it all with us!”

“Clean and comfortable cabin. Beautiful porch with windows all around and a large table for dining or playing games. Large table inside as well. Small but adequate, modern bathroom, private just off entrance to cabin (Entry is perfect for shoes, dog food, etc). Lovely shower / tub with room for soaps, shampoos, etc. Normal stairs go up to stand up loft with 2 large windows. We used the half wall by the first bed as a table for our medicines and glasses. The two other beds were tucked behind a blanket closet and chimney making it cozy and perfect for sharing secrets! Outside, we did hear neighbors working but no voices and could not see them. Other than that, a very private setting. River, mountain, wooded views. Our binoculars got a good workout. River was low (due to summer drought) so we could explore the rocks and island yet had enough water to wade in swimming area to cool off (The cabin itself stayed pretty cool). Northville was our main "go to" town for souvenirs, fudge, Stewarts (ice cream, snacks) and pizza (Cristianos). The only "con" to this cabin is getting down to the water is not easy. The land slopes quite a bit. Also, you want good water shoes for the slippery rocks (in the water). We do not hesitate to recommend this cabin and would definitely enjoy a return visit! ”

“Dear Gabrielle, thank you for your kind review. We are always happy to share our place and try to do everything we can to make our guests comfortable. Our neighbor has been working on his garage for the last few weeks and that is why you heard some noises. Usually there is just the sound of river rolling.”

“We just returned home from our week at Tall Pines and none of us were ready to go! My husband and I stayed with our two children (4 & 8) and my parents. The best feature of the cabin is definitely it's location. We loved the quiet seclusion of it and fell in love with the sound of the river. I could sit for hours outside taking in the views and sounds. The cabin itself has everything you would need to enjoy your stay. The enclosed porch was our favorite room in the house. If I had to come up with something that could be improved it would have to be the beds. They take a few nights to get use to, but you will and your stay will not be affected by it. The cabin was very clean and tidy when we arrived. You are completely surrounded by nature at Tall Pines. We saw deer crossing the river and just wandering around the property while on walks. We were also lucky enough to see a bald eagle swoop down and pluck a fish from the river! Tall Pines is truly a magical place and our family will treasure the memories we made there. ”

“We have stayed at Tall Pines seven times and will likely continue to visit for many years to come. The rustic cabin is comfortable but not plush. The best part of the site is the location - the cabin sits right above the lovely Sacandaga River (as seen in photo above) and is totally private. Nice little kitchen, plenty of room to feed a large tribe, with two dining tables. The furniture is rock maple fifties style. Couches are adequate, beds are old but you get used to them quickly. The best part is lying in bed at night with the window open, listening to the murmur of the river, or sitting with coffee overlooking the river in the morning. It's very peaceful and calming. Plenty of room for a large family - and even room in the Kid's Kondo if more is needed. Trails abound, and the dammed up area of the river makes for a cooling dip in the summertime (the Jacuzzi). Highly recommended as a retreat from society. Cell phones don't work here which is GREAT and there is no internet or cable - which is also GREAT. But there is a land line for emergencies, so no worries! Highly recommended. ;o) ”

“This was my families first time there and certainly not the last. The pictures do not do this place justice. It is extremely beautiful and the house was fantastic. Well kept, clean and if you forgot to bring anything with you, well they probably will have it there. The owners have done a wonderful job with the place inside and out. The river was perfect for fishing, swimming and hiking. I caught several small mouth bass, each over 20 inches using crayfish, which made for a fun afternoon of fishing. The family also did some wonderful hikes up and down the river. Each and every night ended with some delishous adult beverages around the fire pit listening to the wonderful sounds of the river. If for one second you are looking for a place to go, please, please consider this place. Just don't do it when we are planning on going back and yes, we will book early so we don't have a problem. This was a little slice of heaven for our family and I normally don't write reviews, but this place was all that and then some. ”

“Thank you so much for the review. We are always happy to share our place with people. It makes us feel really wonderful to know that we've succeeded in our goal of maintaining the cabin and that our work is appreciated. You are certainly very welcome to come back in the future. “My family and I stayed at Tall Pines 7/8/12 - 7/14/12 and it was hands down the best vacation we have ever had. The home is beautiful, the grounds are beautiful with amazing views. The kids loved the "kids condo". Everything was perfect. We can't wait to go back. Tall Pines has everything that anyone would want. A beautiful river to swim and fish in, places to hike, or even if you just want to sit and relax you can do that around the fire pit. I would recomend this to anyone. It's a great place. ”

“Another wonderful stay at Tall Pines. Peaceful but right off the road, Anna and Eugene seem to have thought of everything to make this a great place to stay. Our second visit last month and already looking forward to August and October. The owners are very responsive to inquiries, answering questions and handling the payments. Five Stars!!”
